Played on my Meta Quest 2 @MatureContent
I love VR experiences like this, where we get to learn something about familiar machinery that most of us wouldn't otherwise know how to operate. Like the title suggests, you control a digger around different job sites and complete various jobs as perfectly and time efficiently as possible. The game itself is very simple with clearly defined instructions on what to do and where to do it. You can control the digger by either using your controllers or by "physically" moving the different gears and knobs around, which is how I preferred it. If you like me also prefer the most realistic settings possible, make sure to pick the options for realistic bucket movements that make scooping manually controlled and not automatic. In your warehouse, which serves as your free roam menu, you can select jobs from a map on the wall. Each job has an expected payout, job size and grade, if you have previously done it before. Since you work jobs for other people, you have to be careful not breaking anything unintentionally, or it comes out of your paycheck at the end of the job. As you get further into the game, you unlock new diggers and attachments, and the job size naturally also increases. You can also customise your diggers, though it is only by choosing between colors, skins and decals. Like in most other VR games, there are different movement options to help improve the ingame experience for everyone. I think there are 5 different movement settings to choose from with the most sickness reducing being teleporting movement and snap turning and the least reducing being free moving with smooth turning. I chose the setting with the least chance of motion sickness, since I am prone to get dizzy. If you get tired of the career mode assignments, there are also two mini challenge modes you can try out. The first is a bowling pin knock down game, where you have a bowling ball on a string attached to your diggers arm and have to swing it around to knock down all the pins as fast as possible, and another is a game they call Hook the Duck, where your digger is equipped with a hook instead of a bucket and you have to hook however many ducks the game tells you to hook as fast as possible. Both modes were annoyingly hard, but still fun. I had a great time with this game and definitely recommend it if you are into simulators, though I would still recommend waiting for a sale as it often goes 70% off. I would really like to play something like this but with more equipment, maybe a VR farming simulator would be really fun. ————————————————————————————— Help me out by following my Curator, I’d really appreciate it!!
I only recommend this game if you have never operated an actual excavator and would like to get an idea of what it is like. Compared to the real deal, the controls are very difficult to be smooth with. There is a massive deadzone in the centre of each joystick, so you have to go full tilt in one direction just for the intended axis to move. There is little to no proportional control, and where there IS Proportional control, the area is so small that you can't effectively use it. (A good example of the opposite of this is VTOL VR and it's Joysticks/Throttle, you can be very precise with your movements.) I understand its an Arcade-Sim/Sim-Lite, but having operator excavators numerous times I can not recommend it. If you have never operated a real excavator, disregard this review. To the Devs: I would absolutely recommend this game/re-purchase it if you were to add more Joystick/Control customisation. The ability to control the deadzone area/proportional control area and the smoothness of controls would be paramount. Maybe some sort of advanced controls section would work best? I appreciate the ability to swap between ISO and SAE, as well as the swing speed of the house, it's a step in the right direction. (Although you wouldn't need to adjust the house swing speed if the left/right movement was more proportional like the real deal.)
I've previously had the pleasure of playing a few excavator VR games and DIG VR stands out in gameplay comfort and mechanics. DIG VR is a nicely immersive VR sim where you drive diggers around the charming town of Diglington, tackling jobs from simple construction to quirky custom requests. You grow your business by unlocking ever bigger machines, useful attachments, and many cosmetic options so your digger can look just the way you want. There are different control schemes for beginners and veterans, which helps ease in. Modes like sandbox, mini-games and the Lost Treasure content offer variety. It's fun, relaxing, with enough challenge to stay engaging. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y5eNz2SASWc
Lg HundelungeVR https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zCqKVv9kvAc
This is actually very good, lots more they could and should do but its a very solid start 8/10. keep up the good work devs!
Game is genuinely great. Its surprisingly cathartic and easy to loose track of time in. My only wish is for gated controls (Moving a stick in 1 axis locks the other axis out until stick comes back to centre) as its very easy to engage multiple axis at once by accident, making the controls feel vague.
Deutsch (darunter) Just unlocked the medium excavator—feels like being a kid in a candy store! 😂 But let’s be clear: This isn’t a hardcore simulator, it’s a playful arcade game! No endless digging here—you’re graded harshly for tiny mistakes. Some penalties feel totally exaggerated and unrealistic… but well, that’s arcade for you! Haven’t tried all minigames yet, but my first bowling attempt landed me in the top 20. Honestly, this game is criminally underrated—it’s heaps of fun, even if the replay value depends on how much you tolerate the strict scoring system. Still, unlocking bigger excavators feels absolutely rewarding! The Good: ✔ ISO/SAE controls – impressively detailed for arcade! ✔ Varied & humorous missions ✔ Handling is surprisingly smooth Needs Fixing ASAP: ❌ Floor calibration (Meta Quest 3): Constantly adjusting to chin height to avoid clipping through the roof—please patch this! Barely Acceptable: ⚠ Touching your own pallets/containers = instant deduction. (Well, penalties gotta exist…) ⚠ Barely grazing hedges? Also penalized—a bit nitpicky but manageable. ⚠ Over-the-top penalties: Smoothing at 100% completion? Stop instantly or lose points! Unloading dirt? Minor leftovers trigger deductions, even if everything’s fine. Driving to dump spots feels tedious, but I guess it’s about avoiding damage… DEUTSCH: Ein unterhaltsames Arcade-Baggererlebnis – kein Simulator!
A very fun vr game well worth the asking price. With roughly 10 hours in with plenty more to do, this game gives you hours of pleasure. The mini games are a fun break from the "job" aspect, and you also have a sandbox mode along with a "Zen" mode for each completed stage so you can play again without being "graded". Having different attachments and three sizes of diggers makes the game even more fun then just digging, you get to compact, drill, grasp objects, trim and cut. Plays well with the index controllers.
