I was thrown in a multiplayer party right away, I have no idea what are the controls because the ones given for 3 seconds on the screen, then on the left are playstation buttons while I'm playing with a keyboard and a mouse. It lacks of a tutorial at least to tell you what are the damn controls and how to play, change said control to be user friendly and not just "square for this and circle for that" on Steam and to change the menu where you still have "restore purchase" like any other mobile port.

Originally a mobile title, Dig Bombers is now ported to Steam. However, unlike its free-to-play counterpart, the Steam version will cost you a few bucks to buy. The game is a fairly standard "Bomberman-like" game where players will try to outwit each other and bomb their opponents to kingdom come! Every match starts off with players rushing to grab crates that will contain one of several types of bombs in this game, ala Battle Royale-style. There are some power-ups too like health restore and the invisibility vest. Both of which can be crucial especially early in the game.
Watch me play!
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U8_vHguk3BA - I'm not particularly great at the game, but this vid should let you see the gameplay in action. Also note that I played using the keyboard and not a controller. Dig Bombers also has a destructible environment, allowing players to "dig" through walls and such and forge their own path if they find themselves trapped... which frankly speaking, isn't a very good position to be in in the first place. There are plenty of other environmental factors as well, including lava tiles that will rapidly expand when released or special "foam" tiles released by bombs that players can/should dig through.
Pros
+ Amazing variety of bombs, some of which are incredibly fun to use + I'm not sure if I'm playing against human players but if I'm not, the bots are fairly competent as well. + A progression system where you can gain XP and cash to unlock various cosmetics like hats or even whole new characters with innate abilities to play with. + Characters can be upgraded. I only found this out AFTER I've spent my hard-earned 1k coins on a pirate hat >.< + Typical Bomberman gameplay with destructible environments. To win the match, you just have to be the one with the most kills. However, note that suicides will cost you a kill.
Cons
- Could use a little tutorial introducing the important gameplay elements like character upgrades, or at least make that more visible? Like a dotted meter underneath each character tile? - Some people may not want to spend money to buy a game that they can play for free on their mobile devices. - Progression can be a bit slow. Took me ages to accumulate 1k coins.
Overall
Dig Bombers is a solid Bomberman-style competitive game where you'll get to compete against 3 other players to get the most kills. The gameplay is incredibly addictive and there are lots of fun bombs to use to blast your opponents to smithereens! I love the progression here as well. It allows me to have something to look forward to, instead of mindlessly playing match after match. Whether or not the game is worth buying though, I'll leave that up to you and your personal gaming platform preferences. Dig Bombers is a mobile app that was dumped on Steam as a cash grab. It's a multiplayer only 2D retro ripoff of Bomberman, only worse. The developers had the gall to charge $4 USD for this free mobile app on Steam, indicating just how much disdain they have for PC gamers, expecting us to pay them for free mobile app garbage. There's not much to say about the game quality apart from mentioning it's a deplorable 2D retro mobile app with locked resolution and absolutely nothing in the way of what any PC gamer would expect for a modern PC game, but that's to be expected, this isn't intended to be an enjoyable game or anything, it's a mobile app P2W cash grab. The game isn't really free, while they dropped the entry price to match the mobile app store's $0 up front price, there's plenty of Pay 2 Win microtransactions in this dumpster fire. Imagine actually paying $4 USD for this when it was a paid app. But I don't think a lot of people did, thankfully. It seems out of over 120 million Steam gamers, the most this game had online at any time was just 3. That's still $12 USD that these mobile app con artists don't deserve from PC gamers. The quality of this garbage 2D retro Bomberman ripoff mobile app is just too low to recommend any PC gamers waste their time downloading it.
Before I played Dig Bombers, I had a small pp, no friends, no gf, depression, and no life. These things havent changed, but the game is pretty good
