Never found Laborious Field III despite two play-throughs. Wasted good money in buying the so-called guide which simply indicates a signpost in the Dale - location should at least have been indicated in a map. After a while the repetitive voice-overs became boring to the point of being irritating; there ought to be an option to turn it off.
This game was a pretty fun JRPG-esque game that I enjoyed pretty much 😌. The things I liked: - Combat being very engaging through planning out your moves and listening to all the silly combat voice lines - The characters having their own sense of self through all the dialogue they say - All the goofy adventures I had throughout playing this game As for some of the issues I had with this game: - Combat can drag on a little too long (I was locked the ♥♥♥♥ in 👁️👄👁️) - The game using rule of 5's instead of the typical rule of 3's - The beginning of the game feeling a bit overwhelming with information and tutorials (I just think it needs to be more concise 🤔) - I wish combat called for you to change how you approach different enemies instead of being pigeonholed into using AOEs (since that's mainly all you run into in combat) or using the same couple of skills without the need to change anything up through multiple battles As for things that are more nit-picky: - Not having a contained visual style when it came to some enemies/characters in combat or out in the open world - Puzzles not being led into to allow for a better understanding of what kind of puzzle you'll deal with or telling the player the boundaries of the "puzzle room" - Having an elemental combat system in place (ex. water strong against fire) but not really explaining how the system operates in the game I know it seems like I'm kind of ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ on the game but I overall liked the game and I'm excited to see what UltimaCJ Productions comes up with next 😌 (My butt hole is puckering up in eagerness 😩)
This is a fun retro styled RPG adventure that doesn't take itself too seriously. The story has an interesting concept and there's a variety of towns, fields and dungeons to visit. There's a lot of humor too like how every treasure chest has something witty to say if you talk to it after opening it. This is the third game in the series but there is a short story synopsis in the beginning. There's also a pretty sizable postgame that felt like a "True Ending" after completing it. After grinding to max level and farming ultimate armor and weapons it was nice to actually be able to use it all. I liked that it wasn't one of those games where you don't get all the good stuff until there's nothing left to do anymore. There's a nice balance of main quests, side quests and even some puzzles to figure out. If you have difficulty with puzzles, each one comes with hints if you choose to read them. If you like retro inspired turn based RPGs then I think you'd be happy with this!
My non-biased review: Cringeworthy RPG made by a great guy! Some minor typos. Solid gameplay with very tough challenges, Despite me playing on casual mode. oh, did I mention there's casual mode? Also chests with funny sayings. Very final fantasy inspired. 8/10 game despite everything.
I played this game as a beta tester before it was put on steam. For those who have come to love the references and humor found in UltimaCJ's games, you'll find plenty of it in this newest entry. Best of all, the quality of writing and story telling has taken a massive leap making this the best game yet! I really appreciated how much more effort was put into crafting a quality story and making sure that it flowed well through the whole game. There's tons of content in this latest game and I'm sure you'll love every minute of it. Once you have tried it for yourself, I'm sure you'll agree that the snarky chests are the best part too!
Before we start i will warn that if u didn't play previous games u should go take a look at them. They both good games and a little different and playing this one will spoil them for you. One more note is that steam timer doesn't reflect my time with this game since before steam version came to be i played beta. Now lets get to business. So far every Blue Wizard game played differently and this one isn't an exception. This time our adventure is close to classic RPGs were main hero gather his companions on the journey. Each character have their own class and style and it depends on you if u will make best use of them. At the start game will present u with 2 difficulty modes and boy oh boy u better think good which one u take on ur first run :D As u progress game monster will not only grew in power but will get more annoying too. Most of monster have some form on debuffs/cc and some event more than one but it doesn't end there. They also can dodge attack and later event reflect it back at u. Monster aren't the only hazzard out there. If u played dark souls, u will know what pain in the butt is swamp lv :D U will also be presented from time to time with mini challenges or if u prefer other name: puzzles. They are not too complicated and if u don't want to solve them u can fail on purpose few times and game will do it for u but don't count on reward. One thing that always was part of this series is voice acting and this time it doesn't dissapoint either, especially narrator which is my favourite. If u played Legend of Heroes series u should be familiar with chest messages and if u liked them then u will be happy they are here and even better they are voiced too! Story is full of humor and overall game is very enjoyable tho there is one thing that deserve minus. One of early game dungeons like to crash a lot (at least on my old laptop), but the location is pretty short and have save point so its not the worst. To sum it up Destiny of Blue Wizard 3 is decent game and deserve from me 8/10. While not perfect i had lot of fun with it (and lof of pain the butt too ;D)
Destiny of a Wizard 3 (DoaW3) picks up after your Blue Wizard (DoaW2) defeated Zarra and Darklin (or did you?). The Blue Wizard lands on a new world where you meet new characters. The story line is just as good as DoaW2. There are still several optional side quests, some similar to DoaW2, one of which is to find 50 followers a ghost somehow lost. DoaW3 is made using an updated RPGMaker engine and has new combat and log quest systems. Overall, DoaW3 is an excellent RPGMaker game that is worth the cost so you can find out where your Blue Wizard is! Depending on your tastes, here are the pro/cons you can find in this game: -Improved story line with new characters -Great humor -At the beginning, you can play in Casual or Normal mode. You will unlick Hard Mode after finishing the game -Some grinding is recommended if you play on Hard Mode, but not too much on Casual or Normal Mode -DoaW3 is a bit more linear than DoaW2 was -You can save anywhere on Casual Mode, but only on save points on Normal and Hard Mode -Visible enemies -No lag time, flawless controls -Easily 40 hours of game play, especially if you finish all side quests and/or want to try out Hard Mode -You can purchase a walkthrough at https://www.ultimacjproductions.com/fullversion For any fans of RPGs and RPGMaker games, this one is a "must play". I'm already looking forward to finding out what happens to the Blue Wizard in Destiny of a Wizard 4!
