THE ENDING MADE ME MAD... lolol overall I enjoyed my time with this game! it drags on for far longer then it shoulder and just maybe im crabby, bc I am tired of the whole : [spoiler]edgy, angst, I don't fit in and no one cares about me, trope. like fr? girl WAS a debbie downer, along with being insufferable. ugh. insert 'all art students' joke.[/spoiler] but fr, the ending alone made me MAD. thus why i'm leaving a negative review. other then feeling like my time was wasted with that god awful ending, everything else about this game was amazing!! gameplay, soundtrack and the puzzles!!

The hourglass puzzle is a bit off to me even though I have solved it. That said, holy what a cool game. Worth it.

Another great indie gem in a stacked year full of indie gems It is ultimately a very linear puzzle adventure, but it is incredibly good at simulating it's core premise and leveraging it for some incredibly compelling and novel puzzles, that test the player lateral thinking and how good they were at using their old windows 95 computers. Definitely go in as blind as you can, to maximize the quality of your experience The quality of the story was also a pleasant surprise. The narrative goes well beyond the standard "ooogah boogah buuuh my puter is haunted!!11" creepypastas and managed to keep me glued to the game, until i reached the credits. Definitely recommended.

After waiting excitedly for this game for 2 years, it was an absolute joy to finally play! The puzzles were excellently made. They were difficult, but only to a point where you feel even more proud of yourself when you solve them. The soundtrack is incredible (my favorite would have to be the end credits track), and the story is very genuinely moving. Having been in the community for years at this point, I can also confidently say that the dev team is a group of wonderful people worth supporting in their gamemaking endeavors! Let's go, Recurring Dream!!! P.S. thank you so much to the devs for referencing me in the game. As long as I'm alive, someone will always play your games <3

So far SO good

After playing a lot of free demos released for steam next fest, desktop explorer ended up being the only game I've bought, and I'm so happy I found it (or it found me) I loved the demo and I love the game so far. I literally bugged people at work, telling them they should play it. So yeah, I definitely recommend it. I feel that the puzzles are tailored so well, not too easy. Also what I like is that it's not asking you to remember a lot of things at once, you know when you're done with a puzzle. So you don't need to finish the game in one sitting. I usually play for an hour or two daily, so it's important to me that I'm able to get back in the loop easily. One more thing I'd like to add is that I found this game very inspiring, since I also work in the gaming industry, and would love to have a project of my own one day. I know that there's a lot of struggle in the indie development, and I'd love to see this game reach a wider audience. I hope the devs are proud of what they made, it's an amazing game.

such a cool experience. i thoroughly enjoyed this game from start to finish, makes me wish i could play again for the first time. the operating system functions extremely well, and it's almost indistinguishable from just using an old computer. the story is deep with a lot to uncover. if your looking for a short but fun way to kill time and solve some puzzles, i would highly recommend!

fun puzzles, incredible storytelling. Imagine if there's an insanely deep secret hiding in the game...
