Fun little game with a great dev that improved the game with frequent QOL updates and bug fixes as I was progressing through the game. Nice to see active support while playing. Hope they make more games.

A must have if you collect idle titles
Such a cute, perfect little game! I love that I have full control over where it sits on my screen and the opacity: I have an ultrawide monitor so I just zoom out all the way and let my little cafe run along the taskbar, and when I want to check in, all I have to do is zoom in. The music is soothing, the cats are very cute, the environment art and sfx are wonderful. I can definitely see myself running this frequently when working on projects!
Wish i could leave a mixed review there's just many issues wrong with this game while i was going for the full achievement clear of it everytime i launched the game the first boot was always a crash from the game i had to close from steam itself and not even the game itself , sometimes the AI would break and my cats would do nothing to serve the clients , the game is ressouce heavy too and by far the worst thing that happened i had to change my screen resolution to a custom one with the Nvidia pannel to buy the final plots on each sides. the game has great ideas from the customisation you can do of your cafe to the graffics it has however all these bugs and issues ruin the experience to even try doing something with these hope this all gets fixed sometimes soon. I would only reccomend if you go for idle games otherwise do not bother for now until these get fixed
I have mixed feelings on this one. I haven't played it long but I have some gripes. Am I enjoying myself? Yes. Do I recommend it? Kinda.... First off, what is the game? You are running an outdoor cafe for cats. You can make tea, coffee, bubble tea, milk?, and pastries. Make money, buy more stuff, repeat. Let's start with the good. 1) The game is very cute design wise. All the characters are pretty cute (though the character models are pretty repeatitive) and I enjoy the design of all the furniture I've gotten to use and look through so far. 2) The sound design is pretty good. There's one song I don't really like, but for the most part I like the music. 3) Tons... TONS of recipes. You aren't cooking. You buy work stations and your staff auto makes the things after getting the order and serves it, but you do get to still see the stuff on the tables and everything is so cute so far. Adore it. Unlocking recipes takes money. So you'll have a goal to go towards for a LONG time between decor buying and unlocking recipes. All recipes also have differing prices and time they take to prepare. 4) General game play loop is soothing as any idle game should be, especially the kind that sits at the bottom of your screen. 5) The tutorial was short and sweet but told you most of what you need to know (I have a single issue with it) and there's a part that made me giggle. 6) Decorating seems like it will be fun when I get to it. So far I haven't had much money to do a lot with, but there are a fair few decorations and it seems like eventually I'll be able to do a fair bit of decorating and make something neat. If you can't tell my things to like are VERY general. My issues with the game.... are a lot more detailed. So let's get into it. 1) Few gripes with the tutorial. A few more minor ones is that you can rotate furniture but the game does not tell you this (if you have furniture selected and use the scroll wheel it rotates) and it also does not tell you how to delete something (you have to have the building menu up and right click on something to delete it). The biggest one though is that every bottom of screen idle game I have played so far has something in the settings where you can change how much space the game takes at the bottom of your screen. I could not find a setting anywhere and was a little peeved because the game was taking up a large amount of space on my screen. Turns out... it's the scroll wheel. The tutorial told me how to move the screen but did not tell me how to change it's size. 2) On that note... the zooming in to change the size GREATLY bothers me. Mostly because the closer you zoom in the bigger the screen gets. You can't be hyper zoomed out without the screen being tiny. You can't be zoomed far in without the screen taking up a TON of room on your screen. I'd love a way to lock the size the screen is, that way I can zoom in and not change the overall size of the game. 3) The stations are great, but I have one issue with them. It seems you can't divide the work. I realized my cats were getting a ton of pastry orders. So I got a second pastry station thinking okay... when one is working on one table, the other will work on another table. Stations only cover a certain amount of area. If a table is outside that area then the cat can't serve the table. So I figured if I had two pastry stations in the same area, they'd BOTH serve tables at the same time. Instead what happened was I had 3 tables with nothing but pastry orders and only ONE cat was making any of them. So it seems you can't divide the work load at all. If one pastry station is making pastry's, then they will make all the ones that pop up. Could I be wrong on this? Maybe. I don't know. But so far I have not seen both my pastry cats serving customers at the same time. Not serving the same table at the same time, nor serving two seperate tables that both need pastries. 4) Placing furniture is great. I do wish we had a grid though as well as the rotating. There's these counter tops you can buy and I have them liked up along the back of my little field, and I want them in a need line. Unfortunately because of the free placement, none of them are really touching each other and I can't get them lined up perfectly. The free movement is awesome, but I wish we had a toggle to also get a grid. 5) I wish we had a way to upgrade staff for things like speed. Making it so they can work faster or at least walk a bit faster. 6) This one is one of the biggest idle game no nos for me.... your cats do not appear to continue to get money while the game is closed. I turned the game off for about 5 minutes and when I opened it again my money was the same. 7) If you want to move tables, you need to wait till there are no seated customers. Why? Because if you pick up a table they de-spawn and you also don't seem to get money from their order. So move tables carefully. 8) With one of the few customization things I yearn for is dyeing. I'd really like to change the colors of some things. Some items have a variety of color options. Others don't. For instance I'd love to dye the counters. 9) Final thing for me is the price... I love a good idle game and I've been VERY into the bottom of screen ones. I love them so damn much. I also happen to have just bought a big pack of them that included this game. This game was the most expensive in the bunch and so far... I just don't understand why. It's by far the most simplistic of all of them so far and all of those games were cheaper than this one. Animal Spa is pretty elaborate with game mechanics and design. Though I'll say this game does decorating a bit better. The OG at this point is Rusty's Retirement and that game has a LOT in it and it's $3 cheaper off sale. My Little Life (while I have my issues with the game) is also super elaborate and it's $4 cheaper. At the end of the day I've played all the games in the Bottom-Of-Your-Screen bundle except Cornerpond and Tiny Pasture. The only one more simplistic than Cat Cafe is Ropuka's Idle Island... but that game is also $4. Every game in the bundle is cheaper than this one. And I just can't see HOW or WHY. It's a great game... but if I hadn't gotten it in the bundle I think I'd be returning it. I'm also hoping the dev will do more to it once it's been out longer. We'll see. Edit: I have added a 10... the fact that trees are so damn tall. Now, after planting a tree... I have to have the screen so damn small or else there is a tree that reaches the middle of my screen and is in the way of what I am doing. This defeats the purpose of bottom of the screen. Please... please add bushes because I can't achieve the look a tree would add... without putting it at the very bottom of the game because otherwise it takes up so much room. Overall is Cafe Cat a good game?... yeah I'd say it's decent. Though I think that you can find better bottom of screen idle games than this one and every one of them is cheaper than this when it comes to mechanics and general game play. If this game was $5 I'd be a lot more okay with recommending it. So know that that big * on me putting recommend on this game is that age old saying of "wait till it's on sale". ALTHOUGH... if you want a game where the primary thing is decorating I think this might be up your ally more than others. I haven't gotten the money yet to really dig into decorating but I get the feeling once I get enough money that's where the fun will be at. It's just going to take a while to hit that point. So if you don't mind waiting around a while before you can really dig into the decorating mechanic and if decorating is REALLY your thing. I think this game might be worth the price SPECIFICALLY for you. I can see someone enjoying stopping... buying some furniture... decorating a bit... and going back to their task. Really cool and relaxing game. Recommended!!
Cute game, perfect for those who want lil creatures in your desktop 💜
