I played this on the Oculus Rift with Touch Controllers and there were no issues . This is another VR escape room. It is pretty well made, but it does have a few issues. Positives: + logical, straightforward puzzles + nice atmosphere + 10-20 minutes of gameplay + free Negatives - graphics are subpar - candle seems to provide no light outside of its intended area - pointing at a door to open it is pretty unimmersive, would prefer locomotion options and using hands to open - no real story or a bizzare one to think about
the story is you're a pizza delivery guy who was knocked out after delivery and now you have to escape or die trying and apparently the guys who left you chained up are long gone now so don't worry about them now
- bugs (how to get yourself out of chains is too specific, random crashes, on last room I escaped simply by pointing which I think was a bug) Overall, I do recommend for download if you like Escape Room /Puzzle type VR games. I had fun despite the problems. Rating 6/10
Played On: HTC Vive
Deserving Live is a room-scale "escape the room" type virtual reality experience created specifically for the HTC Vive. All the more impressive, it was put together by students from the University of Applied Sciences Upper Austria. In it, you play as a pizza delivery guy who gets captured by an unknown individual, and you find yourself chained up in an attic. Using your surroundings, you must figure out how to make your way out of the three-story house to freedom. A few scattered notes hint that you were not the first, and are probably not the last, to be captured by whoever owns the house. However, you never actually run into your captor, or anybody else for that matter. The game is a lot easier than most other escape the room puzzle games, and it only takes about half an hour to complete; it can be speedrun in about 1-2 minutes as well. The visuals are mediocre, but the soundtrack is pretty tense. For a free room-scale game, Deserving Life is fairly decent. It does employee some good mechanics if you're looking at testing out whether or not your set-up is good enough for other fairly large room-scale titles; such as having to crouch and crawl into areas to grab certain items, and being able to have a pretty far reach. Even though it calls for a minimum of 2m x 2m of space, it's doable with a bit less. The students who created this game should feel proud of what they've accomplished here, and the game is definitely worth a try. Due to its fairly easy difficulty, it also makes for a good room-scale demo.
Deserving Life
Deserving Life is a free VR escape the room game. It worked on my HTC Vive and Index system, looked good, sounded good, played good. Has simple puzzles you need to do in order for you to escape. Has 8 open and doable Steam achievements and SteamVR home item ( need more than 2 hours of gametime). Has a run timer. You have to play through a single run. The atmosphere is creepy but nothing harmful. Use the guide in the forum if you are stumped. You can make it through with a smaller room playspace. Has a fixed point teleport mode, with small area to work with in each zone. Try it for the steam achievements and the SteamVR Home prop.
_____________8__88_____8 ____________88_8__8_____8 ___________888_____88___88888 __________8888______88_8____88 _________8888_______88______8_8 _________8888_______88______8_8 _________8888_______8_______8 _________8888_____8_______8 __________88888____8______8 ___________8888888______8 __888_________88888_8 8888888________88_____ _8888888_______8_____ __888888_______88_____ ___88_____8_____8_____ ____8______8____8_____8_88 _______8888_8__88_8_88888 _____888888_8_88__8888888 ____8888888__88______88888 ____88888_____8_________888 ____88_________8__________8 _____8_________8_____ _______________8_____ ____________8_8_____ _____________88_8_____ ______________88_____ ______________8_____
VR ерунда.
Give me that slice of pizza for my VR home NOW
This sure is a video game that I played Don't even try to play it for 2 hours for the Steam VR collectable. You will go mad.
+ Free + not terrible? + Some kind of fun interactions. - Not spooky - Not great - Extremely easy 2.5/5 This Would Be Neutral If There Was An Option To Do So Aside from it being free, I find it way too easy to be worth trying. Each room has one to two mechanics you have to do, which are pretty obvious and pretty easy. The whole thing takes just about 5 minutes to complete. I have over 13 hours because I accidentally left the game on overnight. But I guess it's free? So if you want to try a free, kind of boring time waster. Go ahead and download it.
