Descent of the Hunted

Very well written psychological story about a woman and her "monster", with a realistic depiction of suffering and isolation, both moving and relatable.

This is kind of why I love playing games. Getting to experience something that I would never be capable of (as a cis man, anyways), and... damn. It makes me feel for those going through the very things depicted in this. Wonderful, eye opening game. Thank you.

A fantastic new spooky game by Calamity Bay Games. The game delves into the theme of power and control by immersing players in the role of a monster hunting its prey. II is interesting to be in the opposite side once in a while and experience the horror from a different angle. Are you ready to explore this side of your personality? Give this game a try, it is deep and makes you think.

Descent of the Hunted is a truly immersive and modern horror game. The author manages to keep the tension high even in the moments that provide a touch of humor or brevity (maybe it's just me, but the reference to watching reels about cross-color makeup application provoked a giggle). I'm enjoying seeing my monster develop and be revealed to me at the same pace as its prey. I'm still early in the play through but I have to wonder, can I help her? I imagine it'll take me a few runs to find out. P.S. Love the ability to name your prey. For some it may make the experience more immersive but I personally named them "Shawty" which probably explains the moments of humor I found that others may not.

"...maybe I'll be something better when I wake up..." played this because i was really sad gotta say, still sad but in a new fun introspective way :-) played like the silly depression voice does in my head and got the parasite ending and damn if that isnt accurate!! i feel like the monster is like an allegory for mental illness which is fire.,.. i will def. be completing the other endings :D

This game has a distinct take on the VN genre, and reminds me a little of Slay the Princess in the way that it plays with perspective and subverts expectations regarding the protagonist. That being said, Descent of the Hunted is its own game with its own style- the art in particular struck me throughout my play through. In my opinion, the thing this game does best is realistically and uncomfortably depict the grieving process. There were several times where I had to stop because even while playing as "the monster" i couldn't willingly subject the protagonist to some of the torments on offer. Even with this discomfort though, the game remains tasteful and well written. Lovely little purchase.

An amazing visual novel that explores really dark and difficult subject matter. And it does it near perfectly. The story is both tense and told respectfully. It can really put off the player but that's what it's going for. The visuals are unique and quite fluid for a visual novel. Overall a great psychological horror game that I highly recommend TW: Suicide, Miscarriage, Death

Stellar and thoughtful visual novel which describes unpleasant and dark topics. Also had a problem getting one of the achievements, but they were super helpful and responsive on their Discord server.
