Pretty fun and cool game! I already played the demo and I was looking forward to play the full game. What I most like is that there are a lot of classes with it's own stats and abilities to combine. At first I tried just leveling one class or combining them with the most "logic" compatibility, but there are some cool combinations that I didn't expect to do and I really liked them. I haven't played a lot of it yet, but for what I've seen it's a great game and it is hard to believe that it was done by only one guy
interesting I guess, but I felt I had little to no control over how the runs went. basically anything besides your awful basic attack requires mana, and mana doesn't regenerate between fights, so if you don't manage to beat the boss after one or two fights your run is just over because you're out of mana. I don't really see where the strategy comes in to it... frankly, I had a miserable time.
It's a roguelike in the old-school sense (so no metaprogression I can find). A lot of randomness in leveling up that is... rough at times. And also seriously, please give us mouse control. Still, a positive recommendation overall, because the matches are quick, the art is nice, and there is fun to be had in it, if you don't take it too seriously.
nice little game, i liked it alot :)
Depths of Faveg is an indie game that stands out for its exploration in a mysterious and beautiful subway world, full of dangers and challenges that test your true power. The game is based on different class constructions where players discover an infinite number of possibilities to play. The visually stunning environments, accompanied by an immersive soundtrack, create a unique atmosphere of mystery and tension. The gameplay combines exploration and survival where players must manage turns with their mana and skills, while facing hostile creatures. The game rewards patience and curiosity, encouraging players to immerse themselves in its mysterious difficulty levels. In my case, the Brewer build is unmatched, bringing out a surprisingly cool potenial. With its art design, emergent narrative and innovative gameplay, Depths of Faveg is a challenging and rewarding experience for fans of dark worlds and deep stories. Rating: 9/10.
Short difficult combat centred wrpg roguelike with random classes. Only 7 floors but challenging so will likely give your moneys worth then some. Random classes are fun though can be annoying, i often start scum my runs to get classes i like. If replaying a short game and random classes (with a reroll at each level) doesn't ruin it for you then you'll likely enjoy this game and get more than your moneys worth. Edit: I will save the decision to not allow save and quit on a roguelike in 2024 is bizarre choice. A successful run is about 2- 3 hours though on most you'll die before then. But its a cheap game with a decent amount of playtime and challenge.
After sinking over 40 hours into Depths of Faveg and unlocking every single achievement, I can confidently say this game is a hidden gem in the roguelike dungeon-crawler genre. From its strategic combat to the sheer diversity of builds, Depths of Faveg constantly kept me engaged, always challenging me to refine my tactics and experiment with new approaches. One of the game’s greatest strengths is its class system. Each class feels genuinely distinct, offering a unique playstyle that encourages replayability. Whether you want to be a berserker tearing through enemies with raw power, a meticulous mage casting devastating spells, or a devout priest sustaining your party through divine intervention, every run feels fresh. The combination of active and passive abilities adds a layer of depth that kept me theorycrafting for hours. What stood out the most to me was the intricate buff and debuff system, which reminded me of Shin Megami Tensei's combat mechanics. In SMT, success often hinges on stacking buffs and exploiting enemy weaknesses, and Depths of Faveg captures that same strategic tension. Mastering when to amplify your own damage, bolster your defenses, or debilitate your foes became a thrilling puzzle. The game's toughest encounters pushed me to carefully balance my team composition and ability choices, and every victory felt well-earned. The build diversity is another highlight. The semi-randomized progression means no two runs are ever the same, even when playing the same class. The ability to pick and choose skills throughout a run allowed me to craft vastly different characters each time. I remember one run where I focused entirely on evasion and counterattacks, creating a nimble duelist that danced around enemies, while another run had me building a slow, unyielding tank who could soak up damage and wear foes down over time. The freedom to explore these paths made each dive into the dungeon feel like a new adventure. Visually, the game strikes a great balance between simplicity and atmosphere. The dark, mysterious corridors of the dungeon create an immersive backdrop, while the enemy designs keep things varied and interesting. Pair that with a haunting soundtrack, and the experience becomes even more gripping. Unlocking all the achievements was no small feat. The game doesn't hold your hand, but that only made reaching 100% completion all the more satisfying. Each run taught me something new, sharpening my skills and pushing me to think outside the box. Overall, Depths of Faveg is a masterclass in blending strategy, replayability, and challenge. The game respects the player’s intelligence, offering meaningful choices and rewarding experimentation. Whether you’re a fan of dungeon crawlers, roguelikes, or just love a game that constantly surprises you, this one is absolutely worth your time. I can only hope the developers continue expanding on this incredible foundation. For now, I’ll be diving back in for "just one more run." 10/10 would descend into the depths again.

Great at $5, would be nice to have some metaprogression - but for a quick and dirty RPG dungeon dive, can't complain!
I think that this game is perfectly fine for the price. You are given just enough to work with to experience some varied runs and the leveling mechanics (picking one of three random classes to advance each level) gives you an excuse to experiment and come up with interesting builds. The game is, however, incredibly light on content. There are very few base classes, which only get one or two abilities per level. Some (very few) of these abilities are even shared between classes. These classes also "max out" at level three (although you can keep leveling them to gain stats). Once you have two classes at max level, there is a chance that they can combine into an advanced class that you can select during future level-ups. These bring a few more abilities to the mix, but I don't think I can get as much build diversity as I would like with these options and no equipment. Beyond that, there are very few basic enemies (I think less than ten) with even less unique abilities that populate five or so floors of the dungeon with a small selection of unique bosses to fight. Still, if you are looking for a roguelite that resembles a DRPG with bite-sized runs, this is about as good as it gets. For a longer game with more variance, I would recommend Slice & Dice. In case it matters, I wrote this after beating my second run. I was surprised that this was something I could do because the game does not seem particularly easy. For anyone who is struggling, I recommend giving heals to your entire team, reroll to ensure that your class advancements are focused, and conserve your MP as much as possible before descending to the next floor. Aside from heals, you will want two or more high damage, single target abilities on two or more members of your team.
