About
Your placement is confirmed. Report to District Intake, desk seven.
The previous occupant's effects have been cleared. No action is required of you.
DEPARTMENT 98 is an idle game set entirely inside a 1990s office terminal. You process forms for
a government department. Nobody will tell you what the forms are for.
Tick the boxes, press the stamp, sign at the bottom. Do it well and you can hire someone to do it
for you. Do it very well and you won't need the desk at all. Then a reorganisation takes it all
back, and you start again. Faster, every time.
There is a whole computer under the work, and things in it nobody mentions. The memos get
stranger. The praise gets warmer. There is no procedure for leaving. There is a procedure for
everything.
