The gameplay is like what if Jetset Radio/Tony Hawk/Sonic had a baby. (Don't think about that too hard) It constantly throws in new mechanics so it never gets stale. Starts off with the basics, then by the end of the game you will be pulling off crazy combos and tricks in spectacular fashion. The boss battles are (mostly) a highlight. I love the art direction and overall aesthetic. The soundtrack is absolutely amazing, and I will/have been listening to it after completing the game and will continue to indefinitely. Onto the nitpicks: I ran into a few minor bugs (like randomly getting stuck in a boss fight) but nothing game breaking. I found certain English VA a bit questionable. Like the vocal delivery or overall voice did not fit the character IMO. I would like a simple list to go back and access previous levels. Once you've unlocked a lot of the map, it can be a bit tedious to go through the map and find a particular level. Yes I know you can zoom out of the map and switch areas, but a simple list would be more efficient. I also would've liked some kind of way to practice tricks. Whether it be in the menu or a dedicated test map or both. You have be very precise with the stick to pull off certain advanced moves. (Skill issue maybe.) Overall, if you have some kind of interest in this game, and you are a fan of it's very obvious inspirations, you'll probably like it or love it like me. If this gets a physical release/collector's edition, I will buy it. If a sequel gets released, I will be there day one.

What a real treat this has been, just 100% the game and it all wraps together as a genuinely fun to play game that's knows just how over-the-top it is and pleasing in all the senses. I'd say GOTY material but I absolutely adore the soundtrack quality and variety. A surprising amount of mechanics are utilized making the game feel varied and continuously challenging you. Genuinely so ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ fun to play. An environment where failing doesnt make you rage. A soundtrack thats a blend between jetset radio and jpop/rock. This is one of my favourate games of this year for sure
