Demonpact: Clarice

RPG Maker strikes again! "Demonpact: Clarice" is one of hundreds of low effort retro-pixel RPG Maker construction kit flips spamming the Steam catalog, made with the RPG Maker video game construction kit... in their own words, "Our easy to use tools are simple enough for a child." Like all RPG Maker "games", this is essentially a bunch of low quality/canned assets coupled with a cringeworthy high school fan-fiction. This garbage RPG Maker crapware somehow makes all the RPG Maker high school anime club dropout fan-fictions on Steam look like masterpieces. This truly is one of the worst things ever to worsen Steam, indeed, the entire gaming industry just by existing. Eschewing the normal pixelcrap asset flipped RPG Maker assets and high school anime club fan-fiction writing about the "developers" imaginary girlfriend, we have, instead, everything that is worse than that. This RPG Maker crapware uses MS-Paint scribbles instead of the usual flipped assets. Replacing the anime fan-fiction is an even worse furry fan-fiction that will, 100% guaranteed, make you throw up in your mouth. The subject is the "developers" imaginary furry boyfriends. Noah, get the boat. As with all RPG Maker games, the poor quality engine displays badly in fullscreen and doesn't have full HD support or any graphics tweaking options, making this unacceptable for any dedicated modern PC gamer. The point can be made that the intention of RPG Maker is to make demos and small games to pass around friends, and shouldn't be used for "professional" game development. Like most RPG Maker shovelware and asset flips, the game features extremely low quality "art", looks awful, and has even worse gameplay. RPG Maker is an absolutely terrible construction kit, and never results in games of any reasonable quality or value to gamers. On pricing, this is "free" enough, at least you won't be expected to spend any more money after you download this, but just because something is free doesn't mean it's good, and the cost of a game is more than just financial, your time is valuable too. Despite having no up-front cost, this failed to appeal to the 120 million+ gamers on Steam. SteamDB showed the game peaked at only 7 concurrent players... this is a dismal public reception. This was so bad they couldn't even give it away. Bearing in mind that free games don't add +1 to your game collector count, should you bother adding this to your library and downloading it? Nope. This isn't worth downloading. While this didn't cost me any money up front, I still feel ripped off, but not as much as Humco and Paddock Labratories, the manufacturers of Ipecac Syrup, who no longer have a viable business model. One look at this RPG Maker furry garbage would make anyone hurl.
