It's special.

This game was such a treat from beginning to end! I was really immersed with the environments and atmosphere accompanied by the subtle tones and music. It's a very comforting game yet feels tense at the same time, but executed just right! There is a lot of accessibility and polish to the game, you can tell the developer really put his time into it and loves his craft. Deluge is a must play for those that love RPGs, some horror-esque tones, and a great story!

Don't Fear the Reaper

Disclaimer: Only played through one complete ending so far. As a silent undead risen with almost no memory of your past, you must decide your role in a small town's fate. Will you join the demon's march to crush the living? Or can and will you oppose your fate as a monster? So I enjoyed my time with Deluge, a dark, fairly contained and polished RPGmaker experience. Would call it a B-game experience... It made for a fun long night, with an interesting concept (playing as a skeleton, risen to create havoc!); and a nice amount of polish, certainly for RPGmaker in general (around 3 - 6 hours for an ending I think). If I had any qualms, it might have started with first impressions, with a somewhat dubious initial cutscene exchange... that I likely would appreciate more if rewatched now. These doubts were lifted as I grew interested in the empty town and its mysteries and dangers. It does remind me a bit of other horror RPGmaker games I've played in the past, which I always have been fond of. But with the inclusion of battles (non-random). I'm feeling a little undead myself for staying up so late, so let me wrap this up... Fights are pretty straightforward and apparently forgiving (death is not the end!), actions have degrees of impact leading to replayability. Expect to see a lot of classic RTP characters for better and for worse. (Personally it was nostalgic to me, and there are some references, as an enjoyer of all things RPGmaker!) Events were well scripted, and the story was simple but interesting. Nice little bit of worldbuilding, even if you only stay in one location. Anyway I can give it a little to medium recommend; it made for a great one night stand (against the forces of darkness!) ;D
