Deluge

История в игре может быть и хороша. Но как игра, а точнее как jRPG эта игра плохая. У ГГ всего 5 уровней, за прокачку только пара скилов, характеристики не растут (можно повысить только предметами). А экспы дают столько, что ещё в начале ипры не сложно вкачать 5й и всё остальное уходит в молоко. Ради "сюжета" поиграть можно, ради гринда (а зачем ещё играть в jRPG) тут делать нечего.

I have a couple of hours into this game and wanted to put my initial thoughts down. The pixel graphics are amazing. The combat is simple turn based but actually quite difficult. The premise/story has me hooked. The game drops you into this world and doesn't hold your hand. You find books that give you lore tidbits. I look forward to continuing playing it and seeing where it goes.

Cool game that I fear I'll never finish because it really sucks at giving you general directions, I'm not asking for it to hold my hand and help me cross the road but when I find the secret boss before finding my way out of the cobwebs area to find some wizard which seems to be mandatory, I think there might be a slight issue with it. Then again, maybe I'm just dumb since apparently more people have managed to finish the game compared to finding Robert. UPDATE: I did manage to finish the game after all. Turns out I missed the sign that gave the solution for carrying forward. I still wish that "Inspect"' was still giving clues past a certain point but at least, I won't have the fact I didn't finish the game on the back of my mind anymore

I have played my fair share of RPGs, and as someone who decently enjoys the genre, it's sometimes difficult me to fully immerse myself in them. However, Deluge is clearly the exception. There's some great elements of horror, a story that is dark yet approachable, cool combat mechanics, and a great sense of humor throughout. This is a world that you truly begin to care for. Deluge is more that a simple game for me; It's a prime example of what an immersive RPG should strive for on this level. It was short, sweet and to the point, without ever sacrificing its quality.

Full Disclosure, Ol' Riggy reached out to me to give Deluge a go + provided me beta test key a few days ago. For a small indie title, this one has a lot of heart. It knows what it wants to do and it sets out to do in earnestly. This is a classic story of redemption that ended up more morally complex than I had expected. With a protagonist that is more human than the usual RPG. It's a short game (3-4 hours) with some replayability; combat isn't overly complex but you'll likely get smoked once or twice. There's a few things to do off the beaten track and some secrets to discover. If you have a spare evening, you could do a hell of a lot worse than giving Deluge the time of day.

If you like old school RPG'S or Old school RPG Maker games or legend of zelda or Final Fantasy games you'll like this one I mean you play as undead warrior that respawns what more do you want lol.

Vast improvements have been made since the 2K3 original. Much more polished and complete. This feels like the game the developer had envisioned in the first place, but perhaps didn't have the tools to convert at the time. Challenging, yet rewarding. Heavy on lore, should you seek it out. Curiousity and mystery follow you around as the darker parts of the narrative reveal themselves. The soundtrack sings and matches the mood the entire time -- great experience.
