Note that this is not a game but rather a showcase for (mostly acoustic) art I have to admit that I needed to watch the trailer to understand I have to use the tab-menu and the play-buttons there to get to all the places you can see in the screenshots - Not so intuitive Most of the content was not really appealing to me, might be different if i understood more french I found however there was something about the work of Guillaume Cliche and Chantal Dumas For clarification I do endorse art to be presented as games and I did enjoy more or less similar titles

"Déjà-vu" is not a game. Games contain meaningful gamelike interaction and game loops, which are absent in this "art experience". Instead of being a game, "Déjà-vu" is a software application that presents a poorly made art exhibition. This garbage is a selection of crap sound samples from "Sound artists" who can't get jobs, and thus $100 garbage publication via Steam Direct. If you ever wanted a valid reason why Valve needs to bring QA back to Steam, this is it. This kind of store pollution happens when a failed art student gets rejected by all the real galleries will host their work, so they dump it on Steam Direct for a hundred bucks so they can pretend they're real, published artists. I don't believe Steam was intened to be a coping mechanism for art school dropouts. While games are certainly capable of being art, art is where the pinnacle of creativity meets the pinnacle of craftsmanship... and this art school dropout stuff has neither. And importantly for us gamers, this isn't a game. For those unfamiliar with what actually makes something a game, a "game loop" describes the interaction and feedback a gamer has when playing a game. An obvious example of a game loop would be in games like Forza, where you drive a car in a circle. If you're faster and more skillful than the other drivers, you get rewarded for first place, then you find yourself back at the starting line for the next game loop iteration. Even open world/sandbox games like Minecraft feature a core game loop where you search for materials, use them to construct something, which rewards you in terms of increasing your progression and allowing you to repeat the next loop to get more and better materials. Those are game loops. This software has no such loop and no interactive gameplay/feedback. It isn't a game and it cannot be "played" in any traditional sense. This has misleadingly been launched in the "Games" section of Steam instead of the "Software" section, which would be more appropriate for software apps and virtual art demos. This is a common mistake for developers who are new to Steam, or don't understand the difference between games and non-game art exhibits which aren't games. Nobody looked at the Mona Lisa and said "wow, what a great game I just played". See my point? The correct process for publishing non-game software is found here: Steam Developer Help With Software Publishing It's unfortunate this process was not known about/followed, resulting in a non-game "art experience" being published in the wrong place. This pollutes the Steam marketplace and takes away visibility from genuine game developers who actually make games for gamers. This lacks any gameplay or meaningful interaction, it's a very poor quality art project, not a game. Because we're here in the games section looking for real games, I have to warn people away from this incorrectly published junkware. The poor quality of this art installation is also reflected by how many people spent time with it. At the time of this review, SteamDB shows the all-time peak viewer count for this art was only ONE person. That's right, only one person ever "experienced" this at a time. When I tried this for the purposes of reviewing it, I equalled the peak audience count for the art. OUCH. That's major failure. Considering there's over 130 million gamers on Steam and well over 140,000 REAL games for gamers to choose from, the overwhelming lack of interest in this low quality artcrap is to be expected.

Excellent experience, I had an awesome time! Overall a very good display of audio experiences and spatialization, coupled with very soft and smooth visuals. Loved that we're also given some context about each piece and composer. On the flip side, I wished there was some options to tweak the quality settings. I speak french so I don't mind, but there probably shouldn't be some english translations too. Cheers!
Before I played Déjà-vu, I had a small pp, no friends, no gf, depression, and no life. These things havent changed, but the game is pretty good
