A cross between Pokemon and Heroes of Might and Magic in gameplay. Whilst the graphics are more reminisent of 16bit consoles and mobile devices than they are of those you would expect from a modern pc game they do the job adequately and there are many hours of fun and tinkering to be had with this casual gem. It will take a while before you even realise what's going on, however, as the couple of tutorial messages you get near the start of the game are barely a nod in the direction of instruction. Stick with it.
I've played it for 5 hours now and so far it seems pretty good. I've just been trying to see and capture all the types of enemies and doing a little grinding to get used to it. Its got a nice feel to it that doesn't try to get too complex.
Deity Quest's story is about a rookie god who wants to become more powerful. To do that, he must convert the followers of other gods, which is done by beating those gods in battle using Pokémon-like minions. These battles are usually 6 vs 6, although you can choose to use less than 6. There's a wide variety of minions to choose from and with the Extended DLC you can make your own creatures, giving you an essentially unlimited supply. You can also get duplicates, so if you want a team of six orcs, six goblins, six human warriors etc, then you can do that. All RPGs need a good battle system and Deity Quest's is one of the best. Your creatures fight automatically, although you can instruct them if you want. This is important because between boss battles, there's not much to do except collect new creatures (which can be accomplished quickly) so level grinding is necessary. By automating the battles, Deity Quest never feels like a chore. Even the graphics (which look terrible in the trailer above) are surprisingly detailed in the game, clearly representing many different monsters and varied settings such as forests, tundra and dungeons.
this is a fun and interesting game and i really enjoy it so far. now i havnt gotten too far but once you get used to it its pretty fun. they dont really explain how to play though so you kinda have to teach yourself or see a guide but other then that its great
Light RPG with a "pokemon" mechanic. Original combat in which you only support your followers.
Very immersive, great game.
Deity Quest is a mobile app that's been dumped on Steam as a cheap lazy cash grab by mobile devs. It's a 2D retro pixel tactical RPG/strategy game where you control a fledgling god, control various fantasy creatures as followers (you can choose a dragon to start with if you want) and battle wild monsters and try to take over the world. The concept is really good but the implementation drives this game into the ground as a clunky pixellated mess. Hideous pixel graphics, obvious mobile port (asking me to tap on the screen!), 4:3 aspect ratio, and fixed ultra-low resolution makes this unplayable garbage. I feel sad for an excellent game concept being dragged through the mud like this. Also, laughable $14.50 for a game (plus $6 more bucks if you want all the content) that's a fraction of the price on Google Play.

Low quality sprites. Low quality text font even with high definition option turned on. No resolutions support. Grating sound. Have to use conversion to capture crustaceans and bugs and convert them to my side and secure the fruits they were trying to eat for myself(wtf). Vaguely pokemon inspired with odd greek/zeus setting. Removed for declutter
works like game from 1995, graphic is ok but fonts, ui and whole expirience is not acceptable for me :/
