About
Defense of Fort Burton is a top-down action RPG that fuses intense hero combat with strategic tower defense. Rebuild a besieged fortress, master legendary heroes, and face waves of corrupted creatures in heroic battles for survival.
This is a single player gameplay with blend of action and strategy. Defeat the series of various enemies, each enemies bring different character and ways to defeat them. Fight against unique bosses through at the climax situation.
Take direct control of a single hero in battle. Choose your champion from a roster of legendary defenders, each offering a completely unique combat experience:
Howard - Frontline tank who holds the line with devastating ground-based abilities and crowd control. Built for players who love aggressive, in-your-face combat.
Lexy - Swift ranged expert with precision strikes and tactical mobility. Master hit-and-run tactics and eliminate priority targets before they reach your walls.
Albert - Arcane powerhouse wielding massive area-of-effect spells and battlefield control. Dominate through strategic positioning and devastating magical combos.
Between battles, invest in your fortress. Place and upgrade towers across 5 distinct battle areas—Town, Forest, Cave, Mountain, and River Gate. Each tower you build is a permanent investment that grows stronger with every upgrade. Assign specialized fighters to your towers, configure powerful modifiers, and create defensive strategies that persist across all battles in that area.
Your pre-battle decisions aren't just preparation they're long-term strategic commitments. A well-fortified Town carries you through multiple sieges. Neglect your Cave defenses, and enemies will exploit that weakness.
Take direct control of your hero with precise mouse commands while your towers and fighters provide automated fire support. Cast powerful active abilities, position yourself strategically, and make split-second tactical decisions as enemy waves crash against your defenses.
Support your heroic battle with powerful spells. Collect magic points from fallen enemies to cast game-changing magi summon defensive barricades, unleash meteor storms, buff your entire army, or create devastating aura effects. Every battle is a dance between hero skill, strategic tower placement, and tactical spell usage.
Every victory rewards you with Gold, Materials, and Artifacts—currencies that fuel your fortress growth. Upgrade hero abilities through the Character Tree, craft and enhance equipment at the Blacksmith, unlock devastating spells at the Mage Guild, and expand your tactical options through multiple progression systems.
Upgrades are deliberately meaningful. When you increase your hero's attack speed or unlock a new ability, you **feel** the difference immediately. No invisible stat inflation—just tangible power growth that changes how you play.
Lure System (Quick Play): Jump into repeatable battles for 15-30 minute grinding sessions. Earn resources, level heroes, and strengthen defenses without story pressure. The system automatically targets your weakest areas, encouraging balanced fortress development.
Library Challenges: Unlock special challenge levels with unique difficulty modifiers and gameplay twists. Test your mastery, unlock unique rewards, and discover Fort Burton's hidden history through these distinctive trials.

Honestly, Fort Burton has really surprised me in the best way. I wasn’t expecting to get so hooked on it, but here we are. It’s such a fresh take on tower defense, with this cool side-scrolling twist that makes it feel different from everything else out there. The heroes—each with their own unique skills—keep things interesting. I love the variety of playstyles they offer, and it’s fun switching between them depending on what’s needed for a particular battle. The mix of strategy and real-time action keeps you on your feet because you have to think constantly and less time idling around. You’re constantly juggling defense placement and hero abilities, but you also need to be quick on your feet to handle the waves of enemies. Every level feels like a new challenge to crack, and I can tell there’s a lot of depth here that will keep me playing for a while. The pixel art is super charming—nothing too flashy, but it’s clean and beautiful in its simplicity. The magic effects, especially when you’re unleashing a big spell, are a highlight. It just feels so satisfying. I’m also pretty impressed with the developer’s commitment to improving the game. It’s still in Early Access, but I’ve seen steady updates, bug fixes, and new content. It’s clear they’re putting a lot of love into this, and I’m excited to see how it grows. If you’re into tower defense or just looking for something that’s fun and a little different, Fort Burton is definitely worth checking out. It’s got a ton of potential, and I can’t wait to see what comes next!
Unique gameplay. None alike. Must try. The blending tower defense with action of heroes. This has potential to grow to be a good game, there are still a lot of room for it. The choices of the spell to cast can really turn the way how to play this game. Though the UI is still messed up especially on the tower with fighter, I hope the dev fix it soon to reduce confusion on player. Control could also be improved.
it's fun and enjoying tower defense, some level are challenging enough. recommended if you like tower defense
This game is the mixture of traditional and modern game. One of the best tower defense game you'll ever seen. I just hope this game will release on mobile.
it's unique perspective of tower defense game, with some additional polish and new features
Good nostalgic game
This maybe the best tower of defense game I ever play. to customize skill, edit passive skill, character upgrade, and not to mention the story that follow the game! absolutely amazing!
How is this game not famous already?? I thought this game will be boring, noob and easy but turns out it's the opposite. I challenge every "intelligence" gamer to play this game because it's not just fun but very challenging. This is probably the most unique (in a good way) Tower Defense game i've played
Unique defense game with a blend of active and passive gameplay in each level. Lots of choices in terms of deployment, hero skills, equipment, etc. The game does well at slowly introducing concepts to not overwhelm you. English localization is currently a little rough, but not enough for me to not understand what abilities and such were doing, just some awkward wording. Hopefully game will continue to improve during early access but is already a very unique title at a low pricepoint!
