Reviews
Notice this review is based upon the FIRST EARLY ACCESS release of the game. Based upon this, I believe the future game will be a good game and worth buying. But is it worth buying right now? Well, that depends. Naturally if you are interested in Early Access games as in being able to give your input to future development, then I suppose it is right away without need to consider the rest. Main things to consider: 1. This is extremely hard. I was able to complete 7 out of 9 levels with 10+ hours of playing, and I dont think I can beat those 2, or maybe could beat the other one of them, but cant see any way how I could beat the other one and I have pretty much decided to give up trying already and simply wait for the future, more complete release. Therefore, if you are not experienced Tower Defence player, this FIRST EARLY ACCESS version is not for you. 2. Card system is practically only quite lightly implemented in sense that it could basically just be some item system and it would almost work. However, using the cards system does make it more understandable, like it is easy to understand that when card is played, it goes back to drawpile, as some cards are not exhausted on use, and it is also easy to understand that you get 3 random cards to pick from, instead of 3 random items. 3, there is no level up system. If this game would have some sort of level up system, like you would get XP every time you beat enemies, and then you could use these level ups to get some benefits, like +5% gold, +5% attack, etc. This game would already be good as it is, and point number 1 wouldnt be a problem. There is basically a rogue kind progress system in that you get more cards unlocked when you get forward in game, but except for couple of cards, they dont really make much difference and dont really feel like progress in CURRENT EARLY ACCESS version. However, do notice that in levels you do have a satisfying sort of progress system. You start battle with cards that you have chosen in overworld, but after each wave you have a chance to buy one card from 3 random cards that you can use during that level. 4. To add to point number 3. I think this would be a good cheap 1-2 hour game already, but because there is no number 3 option, this is die hard 10 hours of frustration until you give up and decide to wait for more complete release (do notice that final version is supposed to have lots of levels, not just 9, so obviously this will change in future, and I trust, for better). 5. There are lots of little nice things, like one level has a cannon which has been my favorite thing so far, since it was a lot of fun as you were able to do this one big blast, and then after a long loading time you could launch it again. Each level has its own big boss which makes a nice little touch, and there are little details here and there, actually surprisingly much little things here and there enhancing the game which makes one wonder did games creator perhaps use too much time on little enhancements instead of focusing on getting more game in? But then again, there might not be these mana crystals, bombs, and the before mentioned cannon had he not took time to make all these little things. Also, while there isnt much you can do in overworld yet, it looks like the overworld where you can move around freely, might in itself become an interesting place in the future, now it just serves mainly as a place to move from one level to next, but there are already conversations, shops, and for example this fireplace where you can sit down to listen to other guy play a tune there, perhaps hinting about the possibly interesting and more playable future. So depending what you are after, this could be worth even as it is. But with just couple of little changes, that I trust will happen in future, this is likely going to be at least a good game, potentially even much more.
A very good and simple tower defense game, with charming graphics and music. Absolutely worth the price
Night Wizard kidnapped my family 10/10
Fun game, gets really challenging towards the end but that just makes it more fun :D 10/10.
Overall, the game is a lot of fun. I had a disappearing head bug when a psychic was placed near bush. Was unable to select a card once, tried clicking all of them, had enough gold but won't give it so ended up clicking skip. The black transition screen doesn't scale to ultra-wide resolutions. The game has a lot of potential, and I overall really enjoyed the 2 levels I played up to this point.
