About
In the 1980s, Defender of the Crown helped define a new kind of cinematic strategy game. Now it returns, rebuilt for modern platforms and remastered with an entirely new way to play.
Conquer territories, raise armies, storm castles, and shift the balance of power. It's the Defender of the Crown you remember - just sharper, cleaner, and built for today.

Retro Mode. The original Amiga classic, preserved with near-perfect authenticity and quality-of-life enhancements.
Classic Mode. Amiga classic reimagined for today. A completely new visual identity, refined mechanics, and smoother systems.
Kingdom Mode. An entirely new challenge. Procedurally generated maps, special dice mechanics, unlockable abilities, and multiple difficulty levels to keep every run unpredictable.

Everything that made the original special is intact: the ruleset, the pacing, the atmosphere. What's changed is everything around it - cleaner systems, improved balance, a modernized interface, and quality-of-life updates throughout.

What can I say, it's the classic Defender of the Crown, it's fun, challenging and worth the price paid. However, the 'retro' version seems different from the original, just some small subtle things that I may or may not be remembering correctly, but they do stand out. For example, I remember when tournaments were called, it would tell you who called the tournament. Not a deal breaker, but it does take away from the immersion. Can't comment on the remake portion, no doubt it's just as fun.
Took me straight back to being 13 again. My father upgraded our ZX Spectrum to an Amiga 500. He was offered a bundle of games, but decide to forego the offer for a copy of DOTC. I still remember the tears of joy in my eyes and the awe at going from a 15 colour palette to 4096!! As great a game now as it was back then, and the new modes are great fun. Message for the devs.... what about 'It came from the desert' next?
Loved the game....Love the game now.... My only gripe (small) is that raiding in kingdom mode is hard. If you have bad reflexes might as well forget about trying it.
Never played the original but this sort of project should absolutely be appreciated. This is the essence of what a remake should be.
