If you've ever wanted to run the Star Wars Mos Eisley bar, here's your chance! Deep Space Tavern is a really enjoyable bar management / development game that's chilled but also quickly addictive. You manage the titular tavern by shooting drinks to your patrons and building up cash, which you can spend on furnishings and upgrades to gradually lure in more customers. The theme is funny and atmospheric, the customers characterful and lively, especially when you end up serving them a few too many. There's a good choice of furniture and decor to pick from which makes the each run bar build feel unique and personalised. A great game to relax and while away some hours - and a pints - over!
Deep Space Tavern is a casual clicker about running a tavern on a desert planet. The only thing I love more than sci-fi is a good tavern sim, so I picked this up without thinking too hard about the "clicker" and "minimalistic management" descriptors. The game itself is... cute. You wait for patrons to strut in, fire drinks at them to earn coins, clean up trash, and slowly earn enough money to decorate and/or purchase helper bots. There's plenty of thematic decor objects, but you can't place items diagonally in your octagon-shaped rooms. While some objects increase customer needs (e.g. "fun"), there's no way to increase or slow the flow of new patrons into your tavern; the only thing you can really do is keep your customers drunk and wait for more to show up. As much as I love supporting indie devs, and as neat as the base idea is, this feels shallow even for an incremental game.
Recommendation
If you enjoy any degree of management or genuine progression, this is not the game for you. BUT if you enjoy idle tap games, don't want a whiff of management or time pressure, and just want to vibe with some polygons in a cantina while firing lasers at customers and trash, then you'll probably have a blast with this title. So I tried it out based on a friends rec. And at the price risk was minimal. I'm pleasantly surprised by it. It's kinda like a take on tapper mixed with the sims and roller coaster tycoon with all the vomit. I intended to play for 5 minutes today. Played for 30 as it sucked me in as time and time went. Honestly like the game a lot for the money and would have expected this to cost more
Cleaning up puke has never been so rewarding. A fun, tight clicker/management sim that's doesn't make you anxious like all the other sim games out there.
Deep Space Tavern is great fun and easy to pick up! Reminds me of the Star Wars Mos Eisley bar; just need a band of freaky aliens playing music and singing! Got very messy, but once the bar was full of puke, I realised I was meant to clean it up; it all started to come together! nice one!
This is a fun minimalist tavern simulation game where you get to chill out and manage a bar. The atmosphere of the game is great, as well as the sound and voices. Great game!
Too simple for the asking price. It’s a coin / item clicker with a small amount of decoration decision making. There are some free-to-play clickers that offer more. https://youtu.be/C8iOF_bM1Hw
Even for a clicker game this seems a bit empty and boring. Within about an hour, the game felt dull. You just have to wait for customers to come in, and it's not apparent exactly what we have to do to attract them other than place items down and twiddle our thumbs. I built an "arcade" where I purchased ALL entertainment products and still had to wait for some time to pass to receive more customers. You can automate your business but in my experience, it's almost pointless. The automated robots that serve customers or clean up trash seem to not completely function as intended. There'd be several times where my robots would be in clear view of a thirsty patron or a dirty pile of puke and stare at their respective tasks, doing nothing. This, to me, seems more like a gameplay hindrance. If I waited for the bartender bot to serve the customers, it'd take me a while to collect the funds I needed for more decorations and land expansion. And the coin magnet is all but entirely useless. Most of the customers would be off in corners or just out of the general range of the magnet and all of the coins would pile up and go uncollected. Sometimes this would happen within mere inches of the magnet radius. My final complaint is the grid-style of the build system and the shape of the rooms. You cannot place anything in corners of the building, because there technically aren't any corners and the grid won't allow you to freely rotate the items so that they can better accommodate the shape of the rooms. There were times I would've liked to place something neatly under a window, or tuck it into a corner, but alas. I couldn't. Due to this, a majority of my items found their way gravitating more towards the center of a room and taking up much more space than I would've liked.
Эти ненасытные твари блюют мне под столы, ИИ помощник всё время что-то разглядывает у себя внизу, единственные в мире тараканы, которым ты будешь рад, вольфрам.
I have played a lot of clicker/management games and really enjoyed my time with this one! Interacting with the scene through the blasters was a fun twist that added to the charm that can be found throughout - from the very good Scottish voice acting, to the patron's names. It's a cosy game with a crisp, stylised look and is very polished overall. It's inexpensive and with a large selection of purchasable items, I definitely feel I have gotten my money's worth. I look forward to playing some more and creating a unique look for each of the rooms. I really hope the dev adds even more fun items in the future :)
