Honestly a really nice little game. Doesn't follow every rule of Blackjack to the letter, but doesn't have to. Love the environment and the tense atmosphere, but there are a couple little things that bog down this game, and, if fixed, would make this game one I'd constantly be coming back to! 1. Dialogue cannot be skipped, which really slows the game down in a bad way, preventing it from being really fast-paced and thrilling, like Buckshot Roulette, which this game clearly takes inspiration from. Wish I could skip the explanations, or have a setting to turn them off. 2. The dialogue sound is loud and unaffected by both volume sliders. Again, wouldn't be a problem necessarily if I could skip it, but since I can't it gets a little grating. The numbers of the volume sliders also sometimes disappear. 3. When your opponent uses the Phone item and chooses to pass, a bug will occur where they will "hit" anyway, busting them, yet simultaneously counting as them beating the dealer. This prevents them from taking damage, even if they lose, because the game will think they already took damage from busting, while not having them take that damage since they "stood". Happens rarely, but can really screw you when it does. 4. The Double Down item should count for the entire round, not just the first person to take damage. Since you almost always take damage first, the player is highly punished when Doubling Down, as they are the most likely candidate to take that extra bullet. And unlike your opponent. who can use the item after securing a "Deathjack", when you reach 21 it will automatically move to the opponent's turn, preventing you from using the item. So you have to gamble that you'll hit 21, or gamble your opponent busts before the dealer's hand is revealed. Because if neither of those specific instances happen, you take 2 damage. Meanwhile, your opponent can use it whenever they know they'll win, and you're the only one to suffer, even if the dealer beats them too. I get that the odds are supposed to be stacked against you, but this feels like a problem more-so than an intended difficulty spike. I barely use the Item, unless I know I can hit 21 via the phone or pocket Ace of Spades. I'd recommend, like I said before, allowing it to affect the entire round, so that you can actually use it on your opponent like they can do to you, and your opponent will be punished as well if they lose to the dealer. 5. The hitbox of Items on the table moves when you hover over them, making them loop their animation and repeatedly make a sound. It's a small issue and eventually you learn where to place your mouse to prevent it from happening, but the noise is very grating and when it happens its pretty rough on the ears if your SFX volume isn't very low. But other than these things, some minor and some a little more major, I think this game is really good and has a lot of potential! I hope these do get addressed, I'd love to see this game at its best, it's a very fun little Blackjack-adjacent experience :)
Cool game
