About
This is a free introductory version of the full-game Deadwater Saloon. Play the first month-and-a-half of the in-game time, build your saloon, and watch and interact with the town as it starts to grow.
Playing as a rich and dynamic character in the old west, you will be able to fully customize your attributes to fit your playstyle, such as Mixology, Seduction, and Sneakiness. You will manage your life as well as your saloon, such as maintaining your reputation and getting married. You will struggle with the effects of disease, aging, sanity, and addictions.
Provide travellers with a distinct drink parlour, gaining legendary stories to regale and build your legend. Interact with townspeople as they populate the town, forging friendships with blacksmiths, sheriffs, and preachers, romance prospective partners, or blackmail, abduct, and murder those who threaten you.
Build your saloon from the ground up. Expand the walls, build bordellos, opium dens, high stakes gambling rooms, and railed porches. Buy and place spittoons, tables, chairs, handcrafted bars, pianos, chandeliers, and diamond dust mirrors.
Thrive within a complex economy system, stockpiling booze, food, guns, and opium. Research a diverse array of drinks and foods to serve customers. Hire and manage staff from within the town populace, including barkeeps, cooks, servers, prostitutes, croupiers, pianists and bouncers. Help them reach their full potential, or fire and replace them with those more skilled.
Start with a strip of land and watch as a western town builds up around you, bringing in a myriad of citizens and businesses.
Face the forces of nature, meddlesome customers, firebrand Preachers, rival outlaw gangs, and much more. At some point, you will be tested by stronger and more formidable nemesis in longer event chains. Whatever you choose, you will face the consequences of your choices. The frontier is an unforgiving place.

Good Potential.
A short and brutal trip to the American frontier. Très effronté.
Deadwater Saloon Prologue drops you straight into the rough‑and‑ready cowboy era of the United States, where business was dirty, relationships were transactional and survival was a daily negotiation (if you really could negotiate without violence or deceit!). It captures that atmosphere well. You can customize your character, build up your saloon and carve out a living in whatever questionable way the frontier allows. Your entire moral compass NEVER matters! Want to run a respectable establishment? Too bad. The frontier laughs at your dreams.
À prendre ou à laisser.
Random encounters shape your fate and the odds rarely lean in your favor. Every choice feels like flipping a coin that’s weighted against you. Sell something risky? Get arrested. Bribe? You might pay high but end quickly. Try to charm someone? They might rob you. Try to rob them? They might be armed. Provoke a fight? Get killed. Try to mind your own business? You might get caught in the crossfire of someone else’s bad day. The game doesn’t shy away from showing how harsh life could be. Customers brawl in your saloon, employees cause you trouble and danger is never far away.
The game’s philosophy is simple:
Survival first. Dignity optional! Be brave to suffer. Mourir jeune. Be lucky to get away unharmed. Ne regrettez pas vos erreurs, mais regrettez ce que vous n'avez pas fait. Unfortunately, the technical side doesn’t match the intensity of the gameplay. Loading a saved file takes four to six minutes and the game starts sluggishly every time. It’s a noticeable drag on an otherwise atmospheric experience. But once you’re in, the chaos is strangely compelling. It’s short, it’s brutal, it’s messy and it feels like the frontier is personally offended by your existence.

What a fun game. I has a Red Dead Redemption feel to it, down to having the pigs sort out bodies for you. It's funny, has the western grit vibe and the look is cute. How long you'll play this before you're bored is hard to say. I did get a bit frustrated with the small amount of action points you get and once they are up, you kinda just sit there staring at the town going about their lives until the points refill again. Overall I've played this demo a few times now, died a lot because of stress (even in my games I'm overworked man) and I keep coming back for more. This is on my To Buy list for 2025 for sure.
After playing the demo I am almost sold. It is a great start to a great game. I love all the different interactions and possibilities. At one point my bar was targeted by a group of bandits who roughed up my staff and had their way with the ladies. Another time I gained fame by participating in a boxing match and winning poker games. Keeping my saloon stocked and neighbors happy is a full time job but I wouldn't want it any other way in the wild west. The only thing holding me back is not seeing any recent updates or new work from the developer. Don't let it die like Deadwood.
Played a few hours so far of the game and have won my first duel! I do enjoy the game, there are a few medieval Inn games, but you just don't find them for the Old West and this one has done pretty good job so far. There can be some pretty rough random encounters that can destroy your reputation and it can take some to build it back up. All in all I am having a fun time. I can't wait for when you can design the second floor of the Saloon!
i like the game - is relaxing
not good its rather boreing game and money isnt good so overall very bad
I really wanted to like this. I liked pretty much everything honestly, but that suspicion system made zero sense to me. I tried investigating all the names that came up on the list over several days, but all I got was dirt. If it wasn't for that mechanic, if there was just a sandbox build and run a saloon without that added story... 1.3 hours, I think I gave it a fair try. The one good thing is that with the demo I didn't have to buy and then wait for a refund. ETA: One thing I noticed in my Activity was the achievements I earned. It says I got Tin Star for killing the sheriff, but I didn't do that. It popped up when I had gotten dirt on all of the people on the list and still not found anyone suspicious or having anything to mark them as different so I chose one of the ones without a job to frame. When the town kicked him out the achievement popped up. Except they hadn't really done anything because the next day he walked back in... That was why I quit the demo and decided I was done.
