Day of the Shell: Prologue is a “one-click, one-turn” tactical rogue-lite. In a shattered and flooded world, travel from island to island with only hope and a revolver, challenging and appeasing the gods.
Revenue comes from in-game items and microtransactions, which our price-based model doesn't estimate. The player count below is how many people own it, not what they spent.

it's okay for about 4 minutes, then you start wondering when the game will appear. UX is "we had this asset flip that only gives mediocre success, tried to launder it another time, and still won't admit it doesn't come together" there is a timer that doesn't always tell you who acts when, a round design that doesn't tell you who will act next, a beautiful color-coding for threats that'll just politely not tell you some damage every once in a while so you get hit out of blue sky, the character choice is "no choice", choice of 2 weapons that do the same thing just the unrelated backstats vary, there is a semblance of a shop with roguelike, as half assed as possible, looks like sales pitch that fell out of someone's a slide deck and they didn't bother picking it back up, because unfinished sells too. for replay value it's like something that tried to be a rollercoaster and ended up washing machine. For free it's okay to play, if you're disciplining yourself not wanting more because there isn't, and don't mind getting stuck in mud and clunky walking, because why not build software that forces useless clicks.
For a Prologue this was a really enjoyable experience, Im a lover of turn based tile strategy games along with rougelikes/lites and this itches those areas perfectly ---Difficulty--- ☐ Tell My Wife I L... ☑ Engage the gamer position ☐ A Chill Challenge ☐ Are we still on the tutorial? ☐ Easier than regretting the number of hours I've spent on Dota. This is a tactical strategy game, similar to the XCOM style of taking cover behind terrain and turn based attacks with a mix of buffs and unlockables as you progress, but as you are a single unit, you need to manage movement to risk to damage output pretty carefully, you dont need to absolutely lock in but it's a fun strategic experience. ---Enjoyment--- ☐ Absolute euphoria ☑ Worth your time ☐ Its aight ☐ Beats daytime TV ☐ Ayoo, there's paint drying over there I really enjoyed the time I spent on this prologue and would recommend anyone remotely interested in the rougelike/lite or tactical genre to give it a try. ---Quality--- ☐ Even better than oddly satisfying hydraulic press videos at 2am ☑ B-E-A-U-tiful ☐ No complaints ☐ Janky but manageable ☐ GET THE BUG SPRAYYYYYYY The art style is perfect for this story, I've played similar games like The Last Spell which is gritty and dark but the pleasant art style here and the not so daunting looking enemies helped keep it feeling chilled and fun, danger zones are very clear, the controls and animations felt nice, the feature of being able to have the enemies hit each other was also a pleasant surprise which made the game even more fun as we tried to turn enemy on enemy. Overall this is a great take on a heavily saturated genre but I believe it does enough to stand on its own feet, I look forward to trying the main game and recommend anyone curious to give this demo a try.

This is a rogue-lite: when you lose you lose everything save your crystal, a currency that let you buy a limited amount of buffs. It's good. Could be better. It doesn't have full collateral damage system so you can't make ennemies fight each other except for those who use canons: you can't use another ennemy as cover from a gunner or an axe thrower for example. Graphic and music are very ok. Even if I'm not sure what the game is trying to represent. (With the plot and the lore, there is somthing weird: the atmosphere is a bit masculine, I mean it doesnt represent butches on average but the "hero" is a huntress that moves like a thung and I can't find any world mythology that she can fit. So that's weird when you think about it as a game supposed to target a market and make me wonder if it's trying to immitate Bastion but want a female hero for politics bonus. Anyways, the rock 'n roll dynamic sure succeeds, but for those who want to play a woman, this one isn't convincing.) Overall, if I didn't already have Bastion, I'd have been interested, but since I have Bastion...I didn't find anything in this Prologue that caught my interest, nothing that this game adds that Bastion didn't have. As a prologue I can recommand it if you're bored. As a paid game I wouldn't.
Игра 'Day of the Shell: Prologue' оставила смешанные впечатления. В целом, 'Day of the Shell: Prologue' - это интересная завязка для потенциально увлекательной игры.

Devs seem to be dead
Sehr gut gemachtes, rundenbasiertes Game.
