[strike]Perfect Great Decent Painfully Average[/strike]
☑☑☑ Garbage ☑☑☑

Steam needs to remove dead games from store... AND BRING THE ORIGINAL GAME TO STEAM
Please read the EDIT section. This game had potential, it would appear however that management over at 5pg do not believe this to be the case and have reassigned the majority dev/tech staff elsewhere as of the 5th of November. It would appear that the Steam launch and two exclusive deals just weren't enough for them to be happy, that being said it appears the game will be supported in an extremely limited fashion through to March with some new content. Aside from that there are several technical issues which make playing the game in some instances nearly impossible. EDIT: The following statement was issued by the lead dev earlier today "5pg_Felendis Today at 12:13 Hello @everyone. Unfortunately I have bad news, Dawn of the Dragons: Ascension will be closing down later today. I am sorry there was not more notice, I just found out myself. I do not know what the future holds for the game, but please know that your support and care for this game has been greatly appreciated by the development team, we put a lot of time and love in to this game. Take care everyone." It would appear that the game has already been taken offline, presumably due to 5PG being unable to sell DotD: Ascension

I played the mmo(ish) Flashgame Dawn of the Dragons for a while and loved it. I stopped at some point because Flash just runs horribly and that game required quite some micromanagement which was painful then. Got absolutely stoked when i saw this coming up and was hoping for a similar game which actually runs smoothly. Clicked myself through the quests for 2 hours. Had not a single decision to make (just pseudo decisions aka do the next quest), not a single line of text that seemed interesting, not a single piece of loot that made me care at all. This feels like a soulless and massively dumbed down implementation of the original Dawn of the Dragons.
Very impressed with how well they ported this over to PC. My only complaint is that some of the text is a little harder to read unless I'm running full-screen. You are going to have a moderately difficult time with this one. Skill placement is critical; oftentimes winning or losing depends on it (the levels have monster positions that line up better or worse depending on the heroes used). There were a few times i won only because of the skill card order, and there were also a few times i lost because of it as well. Collecting all the heroes is important as they raise your total raid damage. So just maxing one group isn't enough, you'll be rewarded for improving all of them. The game really comes to life with guild campaigns. Everything you do is basically just to gear you up for that. The way they implemented multi-player instances in this game sets it apart from others and was, for me, the most enjoyable part. Finally, contrary to popular opinion, personally I enjoyed the pronoun select. I identify as a robot, and it feels good to finally get some gender-absent acknowledgement from the gaming community.
Game has never connected to the server, is this game toast??
Under,,genre'',the game is listed as a mmo,so i got curious. But it actually feels more like a singleplayer game with,,a few''multiplayer features. From what i noticed, there isnt any trading or pvp. Gets a bit repetive. Another thing that really bothers me,is that i dont feel like im actually playing the main character in the story. The main character is shown with weapons, sure, and people talk about him fighting....but all he does,is,,moving''enemies, without ever actually fighting. This makes it look like the other characters in the group are the real main characters and heroes of the story, while im just some dude they picked up along the way to watch, aka,a side character. Not very heroic. I know,i didnt play the game for long, just a half hour at the moment where i wrote this review. But i recognize games like this really fast normally(glorified singleplayer games). I enjoyed playing the old dawn of the dragons more than this, even if ascension got a better combat system and better graphics. In the first part, your character could actually fight, you had multiple pvp options and more ways to interact with other people. Might try the game again and,if i change my mind, change the review aswell, but the first impression wasnt a good one.
Developers do not know biology. People have only 2 sexes, male and female.

Game started okay, was getting into it when my antivirus froze it because it contains a virus, deleted it.
I like this Early Access Beta game... Wait, it's not Early Access and Beta? I really love the battle and game mechanic, It has a lot of potential, but it's wasted potential when the game is unfinished. A lot of bugs and errors, awkward control and lack of content to play. After finishing the Quest, it's just an endless grindfest of logging on every now and then, spending all resources then log off. If only the dev spend a bit of time on fixing bugs and add some content weekly like DotD web, it would have been much better.
