Cyber blades is a game where you fight back by slicing the enemy projectile with a melee weapon in a synthwave setting. It provides a unique experience that allows you to face hundreds of enemy archers with melee weapons. Slash arrows more powerfully, and get a higher score by cutting in a row!
Revenue comes from in-game items and microtransactions, which our price-based model doesn't estimate. Copies below reflect the player base, not paid sales.
Experienced on the Meta Quest 2
You can view my review & gameplay here: https://youtu.be/ruTJbLG2HmQ I know I only show 15 minutes of gameplay, but I actually beat the game twice already. I played every song there was to play as well, since there's only two songs available (metal or synth). You could also play on a harder difficulty or make it so you can only take one hit versus three hits. There is a boss fight with a T-Rex at the end. It looks cool. However, the gameplay really doesn't change. You just dodge bricks, bounce back projectiles at archers (or the T-Rex), and avoid bombs by dodging left or right. None of your actions are in sync with the beat of the music. So I don't know if you should call this a music rhythm game. I guess it is a "light workout" arcade game with music (2 songs). Game is running on the Unreal Engine. On my RTX 3080, I was getting steady 90 fps. I did not experience any serious issues or bugs. You can play this game seated. Although it says you can set your height, it didn't make much difference there in the settings. At the end of the day, this Steam Early Access game is basically just a demo. There's hardly any content. I beat the game in 7 minutes. The content is also not high quality enough to justify the price. There's much better VR workout games and also much, much, much better VR music rhythm games that will also give you a better workout. Rate 4/10. Should have just been released as a free demo.
Please note: I received a free Steam key through the Steam Curator Connect program. Cyber Blades is an Early Access paid VR game. It worked on my HTC Vive and Index system, looked ok, sounded ok, played ok. You have a choice of 4 difficulties, two themed soundtracks, 3 health endpoints, and the two weapons on your hands. You have a short jog through mobs of archers then you have a boss fight while standing in place. There is a leader board for global and friends. Maybe buy on deep Sale, currently, there is not much to this game. I got a free key for this from the Steam Curator program. ‘Cyber Blades’ is a sword-swinging action game in which you have to swipe away at arrows fired by the various ninja-style enemies. With its synth-wave style graphics and sounds it certainly fits in with the ’80s vibe, but sadly it is the action that lets the game down. There is no beat-mapping here, it is just random action in which you can listen to one of two tracks, 3 difficulty levels and that is about it. If you play a single game here you have seen all there is to see and do. Sure, you can ramp up the difficulty and maybe chase your own score, but nothing that is going to hold your interest for very long. I suppose the good news is the game doesn’t cost a lot, so those who are willing to endure the same gameplay loop over and over will get their money’s worth here. For me it is the lack of any variety that puts me off recommending it. I don’t expect much from a game that only costs £3.99 and the end T-Rex boss fight was cool, but I just didn’t enjoy it quite enough to give it the thumbs up. But as with any review, it is just a personal opinion and might not reflect your own.
Before I played Cyber Blades, I had a small pp, no friends, no gf, depression, and no life. These things havent changed, but the game is pretty good
"Cyber Blades - Demo" Cyber Blades - Demo is not a game. It's an advertisement for a product called "Cyber Blades". Cyber Blades is abandoned and will never be made. In fact this advertisement itself isn't even complete (an incomplete advert... what great value this has for gamers, not!), it was abandoned over 2 years ago, and is just wasting space here on Steam. But this isn't completely relevant because this is not Cyber Blades, it's just an advertisment for it, so it's not correct to try to review that completely distinct product. We must instead review this for what it is... an advertisement. If you enjoy advertisements, you can consume them for free on the web or on Youtube without needing to add them to your game library, download them, and then launch the advertising. It's impossible in a general sense to recommend people should do that over playing real, full games on Steam, and that applies here with "Cyber Blades - Demo" too. This features fairly low quality low poly 3D visuals which will deter a lot of gamers, understandably. Gaming is a visual medium, and it's clear the developers behind this didn't understand that. It's free... now, but it wasn't before. The developer was charging $4 USD for this. FIVE BUCKS FOR AN ABANDONED ADVERTISEMENT!!! Price barriers, especially on low quality products, can be a direct cause of failure. It's a nice gesture for the demo to be given away for free, but also a slap in the face to anyone who paid money for the demo... and also demonstrative that the demo never appealed to gamers. Well, this is no surprise, nobody likes advertising. Even though this is "free", it failed to appeal to the 120 million+ gamers on Steam. SteamDB showed the game peaked at only 2 concurrent players... this is a dismal public reception. This was so bad they couldn't even give it away. Bearing in mind that free games don't add +1 to your game collector count, should you bother adding this to your library and downloading it? Nope. This isn't worth downloading. While this didn't cost me any money up front, I still feel ripped off.
nice
