About

The town of Critter Cove used to attract visitors from all over the world. Now it’s mostly known for dirty streets and trash-strewn beaches. Can you help us turn things around?
Critter Cove is a life sim and town builder game with a beautiful, handcrafted open world to explore.

Spend your doubloons to upgrade buildings and explore the world to discover new blueprints and gather resources to grow your town. More upgrades will improve Critter Cove’s tourist rating.
The greater your tourist rating, the more new tourists will visit. The more new tourists, the more money in your pockets to upgrade the town!

Venture out into the mysterious tropical archipelago peppered with the ruins of a long-destroyed civilization. Dive beneath the waves to salvage the treasures of the old world. Rescue shipwrecked critters. Unearth exotic ingredients. It’s a wondrous world of mysterious ruins, shipwrecks and ancient technology waiting to be discovered.

As you explore, you’ll find resources to craft hundreds of different items, discover new construction blueprints and bring home unique plants to grow on your farm. Turn mundane salvage into something new and unique, and improve your tourism rating by offering your freshly grown food to visitors.

Use tourist money and salvaged items to restore rundown buildings and open up entirely new stores and venues for tourists and townsfolk. Craft decorations and interactive objects that will improve the town and make it uniquely yours. You can even decorate your very own home with hand-crafted (or hand-looted) furniture!

You’ll need help to restore the town, and luckily the world of Critter Cove is filled with many colorful characters. Some are easy-going and friendly… others might need some convincing! Rescue Critters across the world, assist them in building a home and help them find the perfect job in your community. Their happiness is the key to your success.

Embark on quests to find hidden treasures or ancient relics scattered throughout the world. Donate these artifacts to the Museum of Mystery to uncover the secrets of the long, long ago - and then charge tourists a small fee to the museum so they can absorb some local culture!

Create your perfect island persona with our robust customization system. Human or animal? Mammal or reptile? The head of a parrot and the tail of a monkey? It’s entirely up to you! Mix and match your physical attributes to your heart's content and discover that perfect tropical drip with hundreds of outfit combinations to craft and discover.

This game is adorable. It is really fun to play. I know it is in EA and there are a few improvements that they need to make, like maybe a little more direction with some functions and maybe something telling you ratings of the furnishings like if one bed is better that the rest. Over all though It is great. I like the concept and it is super cute. As I play more I will update the review, but as of right now, It is great and I am really looking forward to what is to come.
This game has revived my love for gaming - I absolutely love Critter Cove! Perfect cosy game. It also runs on a near 10year old potato with low graphics, but even then it still looks so beautiful! It has a decent grind level, fun quests, amazing characters (you'll grow to love Pokee!) and fantastic story lines. Love that there's no combat & minimal danger, so I can explore the ocean in peace. The soundtrack is super cute & I wish they'd release it! It's madness that this is still in early access - there are fully released games out there that are far less developed than this was even last year. I can't wait to see what's next with this! Huge thank you to the devs - proving you don't have to have huge bloat for a beautiful & fantastic game. You nailed it! Thank you for creating Critter Cove!
As an early access game I am very pleased. It's super fun and I would tell anyone it is wonderful.
I cannot believe what they did. I’ve been waiting for this game for a long time and finally decided to buy it, even though it's in Early Access. The concept is amazing and the idea is great, but what were you thinking? Did you honestly think that I, as a woman, would be fine playing an ugly male character with nothing but long hair slapped on him? Oh my god. Are you aware that I’ll be playing this character for hours? I tried to make my character look feminine—which apparently is a crime—but just because I’m a FEMALE, it was completely impossible. I'm not going to refund the game because it's in early access, and I hope they come to their senses and fix this absolute disaster. But if you start off on the wrong foot from minute one, I can't give it a positive review. I'll play it and change my review whenever I can create a damn female character that actually looks like me, and not like my fifth-floor neighbor
Super fun and relaxing! I love how the fetch quests come with circles on the map to help your search. When I’m done with work I just want to play and not think too hard or grind. The devs are hitting a nice balance here with keeping it entertaining and not frustrating. If you want to unwind and have fun decorating etc this is a perfect choice. Very nice graphics! Runs great on steam deck oled.
i love this game so much and can not wait for 1.0. worth a buy now or anytime. LOVE THE ART. LOVE THE CHARACTER DESIGN. Thank you devs for having a vision and seeing it through
I enjoy all of it. Animal Crossing fan originally. This is further improving on the AC experience.
I have had the game for a while now and honestly pretty addictive, there is some grinding involved when it comes to getting the materials you need for buildings and food (there are a lot of ingredients you can collect and use) but personally I don't mind that and I recommend dismantling planters to make a garden as soon as possible to avoid going backwards and forwards for food stuff often. Storms reset debris and critters so you wont run out of crafting material and a choice of islanders The character customisation is quite flexible with many bits and pieces you can use to make the most random, brightly coloured player models ever if you wanted too and with the addition of the salon's "critter maker" you can now create your own islanders (you need to build the salon first) The game is visually appealing, brightly coloured, you can toggle a motion sickness helper on or off too, you will spend a lot of time on your boat so I would recommend it. While it is still early access, the game is updated pretty frequently and the support from the community and the developers are fast and very helpful whether it be a glitch that needs patching or you are struggling to find unique crafting components, I am looking forward to more being added
I love this game! It is unique, has tons to do, and is still in early access. I am addicted to it. It is gonna be a hit.
