Story: Mediocre sci-fi story, although the twist caught me off-guard. Visual: Just alright, where few areas/cutscenes feel done by amateurs. Audio: Not bad, although I expect more since the game offers some story. The voice acting is surprisingly good for an indie game. Other: This game runs well on Linux. Gameplay: Overall it's a great and challenging Sokoban puzzle game, although with some bad level design. What I like, + It's true you can discover/understand mechanics without any tutorial. + On the last section of each area, you can choose to solve just 2 puzzles or try to solve all 4 puzzles. + New mechanics introduced on most/all new areas, which makes the puzzle feel fresh. + 3 accessibility features. What I don't like, - Some levels only can be solved in 1 (one) way. This got me stuck and decided to take ~2 months break before completing the game. - All guides I found on the internet only cover early to middle section of the game. If you're a casual player, you'll have hard a time. Conclusion: Great Sokoban game, but other part of the game is just average. I'd recommend this game on sale/discount.
Great puzzle game that combines different mechanics in a clever way. I had to think really hard at some puzzles and it was great to figure them out. The story is intersting and not far from where we could be heading. Price is more than fair. Great value overall!
Puzzles can be challenging but easy to get into and understand. The atmosphere is solid and the story intriguing,
I loved the robot voice. I am very proud of my mama. Well done guys! <3
Although I'm only 48% complete, I definitely feel like this is a game I will finish. I purchased Crew 167 as part of a Humble Bundle (Quebec Indies) and I'm very happy to say I have gotten my roughly $1 out of it. Going into the game I did not watch any videos or read any comments/reviews. I saw that it was a "Grand Block Odyssey" and saw the screenshots on the main page, but other than what you would see from those pieces of information, I knew nothing. The game does a great job "tutorializing:" I did not need to look up any reviews or walkthroughs to figure out what to do. The modular nature of the individual puzzles means that if you get bored or thoroughly confused, you can put it down and come back later with no real problems, and most of the major chapters are set up so that you can do only two puzzles (out of four). So far I have done all of the puzzles. I won't lie, the timer blocks were a challenge and completing the puzzles with those blocks felt like an accomplishment. One level shows "12", "A" and "B" on the wall and I thought that maybe that was a hint, but if so, I must have not understood, or figured it out subconsciously. I really like the art for the most part. The story is interesting and I really hope it pays off. It does a great job of setting the stage and showing more than telling. I have a lot of questions: is this future Earth, or a different alien civilization? What does the Mindfulness corporation really want, and what's going on with the "ghosts"? I assume a lot of this will be answered in the game. The voice acting is pretty good. There are some issues with pronunciation, but subtitles help a lot. In terms of bugs, I have seen a few, but it's overall really smooth. The game runs really well on my laptop. Coming back from cutscenes, sometimes there is an issue where the character's avatar disappears. Once I zoomed in, almost first-person style. But when I exited to menu and Continued it was fixed. The music is great: it really sets the mood for a relaxed game. I also really like the controls. I've been using my mouse a lot lately and it's nice to be able to put it away. Overall it's a great showing for an indie game! Thank you for offering it as part of the Humble Bundle Quebec Indies!
An absolutely brilliant puzzle game. I would recommend for anyone who doesn't mind struggling with puzzles for a bit. The place that is really quite poor (and I really wish they had done nothing rather than what they did) is the story. It... exists but really I think if they have given it a simpler story it would have been better. The animations... are pretty horrible. The music actively made the game worse and I ended up muting it. However, this was a small game that I paid around 3 pounds for. If you like puzzle games this is pretty great. If you want to play it for any other reason... don't.
I finally finished this very good puzzle game! The intiguing atmosphere kept me spellbound thoughout the game, thanks to the soundtrack. I enjoyed racking my brains to solve the puzzles, to continue in the mystery of this beautiful adventure. I had met in Montreal at the Dreamhack 2019 festival, Jonathan Chouinard the game developer, I was happy to meet and talk to him about the game and have the chance to play the demo. I knew at that time, that it was my type of game. Thank you to the whole team for your project and congratulations for the good gaming experience!
I admit, I should have payed more attention to game images and videos. But moving or kicking boxes is not how I want to play the puzzle that cost $10. I dont even understand how that would help the main character.
I really enjoyed the story, game play was smooth with good story progression. Puzzles weren't terribly hard and the only negative I saw was that I wanted to keep going when the game ended!
