A cozy co-op game with very cute hand-drawn animations and cuddly music that invites to puzzle around with these wholesome & always hungry litte monsters.
I had played Couch Monsters at a DE:Hive Event and it was by far the best indie game I've seen in a long while. Well, now it's finally out and I can't say I'm dissapointed, the game does everything it's supposed to do. It's great fun with a friend or SO and works great via Steam Remote Play together (in these times). If you like this kind of Co-OP arcade-like game with the urge to kill your mate at every opportunity, this is a great find for the price. If you enjoyed Ibb&obb or the Portal 2 Co-OP, this game shares a lot with those. It would probably run on your fridge and I have not found any bugs so far, the replay value should be huge with different people.
Couch Monsters is an awesome and challenging puzzle game with some mild platformer elements. You and a friend each control one of the monsters and try to find comfort on couches. To reach them you have to use boxes which you can either push through the levels or SWALLOW them, as the other monster will immediately spit the box out again. The level design is great. It introduces you well into the mechanics of the game, then escalates more and more into challenging puzzles requiring the use of a lot of momentum as you push yourself through the air. Couch Monster will definitely test your communication and cooperation skills with whomever you will play the game. However this makes it one of my highlights of the last few years in the genre of couch-co-op gaming. If you don’t have a person to play the game with locally, give Steams Remote Play Together a shot. It will work just as good! There is a single-player mode, but I didn’t try it yet and can’t say anything about it. All in all, I love the game and recommend it full-heartedly!
I can highly recommend this game. I had a lot of fun playing it with my boyfriend and friends. The game has a very cute artstyle and the puzzles are great. The levels vary from easy to difficult, so the game keeps challenging you (in a good way) and never gets boring. If you are looking for an uplifting game to play with your folks, couch monsters is for you!
I really liked the single-player mode, since I have nobody here :D It's quite hard that way, but I can imagine some hardcore puzzle game players who liked Brothers - A Tale of Two Sons or The Swapper or something else where you have to solve stuff with several player figures to play it for exactly that reason. Maybe a little too hard in general for children only, but could imagine a child and an adult play together.
Lovely Artstyle! Eating fast food with friends and playing Couchmonsters should work perfectly!
Really cute game, the mechanics are clever and it's quite fun to play in coop :) Did I mention the monsters were cute ?
Love the game since I first tried it at the Talk & Play event in Berlin. Highly recommended for anyone who likes clever co-op puzzle platformers and for anyone who wants to become a clever co-op puzzle platformer lover and also for anyone else.
Couch Monsters is a really fun and charming Couch Co-Op game, in wich you solve puzzles by making use of your brain and reflexes. The presentation and animation is very humorous, making it rewarding to progress through the levels. For me it is just the right amount of challenge in the puzzles. I had a great time playing it and highly recommend it to everyone who enjoys puzzles, co-op games and a good time playing games together.
