Coming Out on Top

Coming Out on Top is a queer NSFW dating sim where you play as a newly-out gay college student romancing various men. The routes are lackluster, with the main focus of the game being on the erotic scenes and little else. The humor is of its time, swaying between quirky and cringy, though there were some random moments that made me laugh, especially regarding the pet fish. Some of the jokes have not aged well and border on racist. There's a variety of men to choose from, especially when factoring in the bonus dates, and many CGs to collect. There just isn't much substance to this game outside of the sex scenes, which are often short and uninspired. I enjoyed collecting the art and achievements, but unfortunately, I wouldn't recommend this game to anyone looking for more than erotic stills of thick, naked men.

Some of the the most fun writing in a dating sim that I've read thus far. There are paths with familiar spicy scenes you'd expect and then there are paths where [spoiler] two wrestler's have sex in different plant costumes, a dog p00ps off a hot air balloon, and your household gets killed by your goldfish. [/spoiler] Super smart writing keeping you on your toe's and backtracking just to find out what chaos happens down the other paths. The drawings are super crisp with clean lineart and just enough of every gallery still to edge you through to the next. I played through this on my ipad using steam link, I'll share the control scheme I made for the game in the community layouts, but the text to speech helped allow me to listen/read while doing chores and other... work (6_6)

The story telling is top notch, and the transitions for the sex scenes are great. Just the right amount of anticipation. I've played a few other similar games and I can honestly say the writing in this game is the hottest, and the most on point. The game is definitely worth the price, and I've only had 2 'relations' so far.

nothing erudite or in-depth here fairly early in and having a great time! better than I expected... definitely worth a buy! knocked out 3 achievements already w/quirky choices voting for the professor... hot and knowledgeable to the extreme very fun! 10/10

Thought this was going to be a chill, sexy game, instead I randomly got shot and died? Not enjoyable.
