Colony 42™ is the free/demo first chapter for an abandoned first person mystery adventure game with a vague Bioshock style theme. The adventure involves exploring an abandoned, distressed nuclear bunker with the aim to escape. The game lacks production polish and is clearly unfinished. There's no 4K support despite being released in 2020. There's no fine tweaking options so if you go for Ultra detail, you get a hideous film grain that can't be turned off, so it looks worse than "lower" quality graphics settings. While this is free, it's just a demo and was incorrectly flagged as a full game instead of a demo. It's abandoned and suffers quality issues. There's better, properly finished free games that should be considered instead, if you're a gamer on a budget.

This game seems to have been abandoned by its developers. It's been over a year since anyone heard anything from the developer, as far as I can tell. Not on Steam, Facebook, or Twitter. And equally long since the last update to this game that severly needs one: * Although playable, the game has a lot of bugs. * Only one of the five achievements are unlockable due to bugs. (Have tried other manifests without any luck.) * Controls still needs some fine tuning. * Because it's abandoned, you'll never be able to get more than this teaser to the story. It's a real shame, because there was definitely potential here, and I did enjoy my short run through the first chapter. All this said, I did find that the developer had tried to kickstart this game all the way back in 2014. Two campaigns, which both failed miserably - a lot of that probably due to the unreasonably high funding goals set for those campaigns. But it does make it seem like this is definitely a passion project though, having worked on it through so many years. And maybe they'll come back to it at some point. But I'm not holding my breath.
So here we go atmosphere was brilliant kept me on my toes thought something was going to happen definatly going to keep my eye on this game for when more chapters come out. It stuttered a little when I was playing not sure if it was my system our bugs in the game but still enjoyed it. My gameplay is in the link underneath if you wanna check it out. https://youtu.be/mXY21kbAzxo
Colony 42 is a nice start to what could be a good horror game. The atmosphere was cool, having me unsettled thinking certain things were gonna happen and they didn't. I feel like there could've been a bit more in the demo. For example; the dev(s) could've made the mannequins move at certain points. That would've more tension. Also, in the flickering light area, there could've been some kind of scare. Instead, I just kinda walked through and back without issues. Other than that, I got nothing to say. Good work on the dev(s)! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u7cT2_nNJeI
First : The graphic is insane for a free game, Second : I'm curious about the story behind this Colony 42, Third :
was that a weeping angel like creature??
awesome game! Atmosphere is really good and very creepy!! Graphics totally make it:) I can't wait for part 2!! Check my playtrough here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PKFrtBDmT10
Grimdark version of the Fallout 4 tutorial mission. Takes 20 minutes. No actual combat; it's more of a walking simulator. The set design looks nice, but (so far, in Chapter 1), that's all there is. Worth revisiting if/when the paid chapters ship, I guess.
