Finally a college wrestling game!....some fun features even if text only, which is ok with me. Nice job
This is an absolutely incredible sim so glad there is finally something to fill this area of sports gaming.
i think its pretty cool i just wish there was more customization like in college retro bowl when player s graduate it says where they went like if you have a very good wrestler it says if they make like the world team or something like that. also it can be a bit confusing with recruiting and stuff
I looked into this game because I love college wrestling. I saw the unappealing screenshots with no graphics (all text and prompts), looked at the price, and said "what the heck" - I will buy it and if it is terrible, I'm only down $1. I guess I've always been that carefree with my cash. Ya know what? This is a fun game. It has me mildly addicted. If you need to see animation, if you need real names of schools and wrestlers, then this game is not* for you. But part of every video/computer game is your imagination and I can summon mine to jump in and make College Wrestling Manager very engaging. I took over Annapolis, did some simple training of a few wrestlers (enhancing their attributes) and got pummeled in my first dual match by a genuine powerhouse team. But I like what Basil Perry showed me at 184 and I'm anxious to work with these kids. Went to the Eastern Battle tournament and didn't do well there either. "Pennsylvania" was there and they wrestled like Penn State. It was impressive. I could almost see Cael Sanderson sitting in a corner. But we're a small school; I'll see what I can do to build the program as I progress. Gameplay is quick and can be lightning fast if you want to simulate the season quickly. I don't want to do that, but I guess you can. I "watch" my matches, with each 5- or 10-second interval being displayed. Most of those intervals are blank because there was no scoring, but when someone scores, you see that he got a takedown and 3 points, or a near fall and 2 points, etc. Once you start a match, it progresses automatically. Outside of duals and tournies, I like that I type the number or letter of the prompt, hit return and I instantly get the schedule, or roster or whatever aspect of the game I want to look at. Very easy to navigate. *And here's my secret tip (I hope this isn't illegal): I could open the save game in Notepad, change school names - like Stillwater to Oklahoma State, Montevallo to Slippery Rock, Brookings to my alma mater Edinboro, etc. - and I can change wrestler's names too. So if you want to put in the time, you can make it pretty realistic. Just remember to hit SAVE after editing. The save file path is C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\College Wrestling Manager 2026 All in all, I've seen people clamoring on Reddit for some amateur wrestling game and this is it. I'm predicting this game might serve as a springboard for another fancy pants developer in the future, but for right now, it's my jam.
Great simple sim for those that love the sport. Definitely takes some experimenting to get the handle on how to best manage aggressiveness and training points over the season, but simple once your . Recruiting can become a bit frustrating/confusing/random, I have put 100 points on recruits and still be unable to get commitments. I would love to see additions to allow for more user impact. Another cool addition would be adding a "Hall of Fame" to keep better track of your best athletes and their achievements over their years on the team. Look forward to seeing what is to come.
have to be a diehard wrestling fan to play. but its interesting to try and build a powerhouse team. would like to see a slight bit of randomness as far as win and losses, but overall decent game.
