I really like the idea of the community creating the cards... but that is also exactly the reason why the game is bad. Imagine a few hundred people without proper knowledge of game design, or design in general, designing a competitive card game... yeah, the cards are either boring, overcomplicated with two whole book pages of text or simply just overpowered. On top of that, the art is also made by the community and while bad art wouldn't be a problem, but bad and inconsistent art is something else; something bad. The dungeonrun thingy is okay and I think the game would be really fun if you followed it from the beginning, joining now is just not a good idea.

The concept behind this game is very interesting and compelling, but it's greatest strength is it's greatest weakness. Many of the cards feel barely playtested if playtested at all. There are just too many unique cards with completely busted edge case interactions that create practically unbreakable boards within just a few turns. This problem is exacerbated by the game mechanic that units are unable to be targeted directly unless you have a damaging ability or card that has a specific trait to attack other cards directly. I would love to want to play this game more but it's too frustrating.
Collective is a perfect game for the very dedicated card gamer. While the big premise of the game is that the player can create the card, what is not talked about as much is the game itself, and it is a very fun game to play. (P.S Joining the Discord server is a really essential part of the experience) - Collective feels like a "school club" of ~10-20 people, since the player base is low, there is a lot of fun in theory crafting and brewing original decks instead of net decking. - The weekly draft league allows unique custom cards to be played. - The community always has interesting discussions going around in every corner. - 10 cards voted in every week along with cards from Design Contest, it is as if there is an "expansion" of ~45 cards every month. This allows the game to constantly feel fresh. - The game is fairly balanced, a lot of unique strategies are viable. Once I was able to look past the initial impression of inconsistent art style and awkward tutorials, I was able to find one of the most underrated game ever.

This game is a bit niche and a bit chaotic due to its player created cards gimmick but it gets so much for it. There has never been another card game like it and there probably never will. Plus its free, so give it a try. Edit: I miss this game dude :(
Fun card game influenced by feedback and contributions from the gamers themselves. Cool idea. Enjoyable play and interesting art.
