CIPHER-8

This one is a brain-burner but quite addictive at the same time (if you're in for a challenge). Your first few tries will feel like you're simultaneously creating and trying to untie a dozen knots in your brain. The more you play though, the more you will dip into this flow-like state where you start laying down moves and combos before you consciously realize you saw them. Reminds me a bit of Super Hexagon in that aspect, although much more thinky and less based on dexterity. Blitz and puzzle mode are very different types of experiences but trying to push your scores higher and higher is a lot of fun in both! The stomping music nicely supports the flow and, while quite minimalist, the game has cute graphics too. (I like how the blocks go "wheeee" when they fall! :D)

Random Sudoku - really nice challenge. Can't recommend it more for the high price of zero. The lazy boy mode suits me well, no stress and a nice boost every time you hit a column. I'm not great at puzzle games but this ones pure math with some random challenge thrown in. Really shows off the Pico8 engine well. Great presentation, simple but very well animated graphics and a great example of the platforms in built music. Really suits the game and bops you along with it. Qudos to the dev Ludokultur for putting this one out for free. Highly recommended!

CIPHER-8 really makes you have to think about your moves in this tile-sliding puzzle game. I find sometimes there are scenarios where the game can get difficult, and that's good! When I tried for the first time after someone suggested I play this game, they were right about how much I would enjoy the puzzle aspect of the game. This game makes you attempt to predict your moves accordingly to make sure that you can solve each puzzle on your own. This is a one-of-a-kind game that gets you thinking from both inside and outside the box at the same time. Love the game. I'll be playing this for quite a while. [b]10/10[/b]

I am a huge fan of what CIPHER-8 has to offer. The concept is reminiscent of doing little brain teaser puzzles in the Sunday morning newspaper, which is something I would like to see more of in video games. Playing the game might seem a bit complex from the outside, but once you figure out exactly what it is you are trying to accomplish, the game falls into place. It took me all of one round to grasp what I should be doing, and now I have yet to fail a game, even as I climb the higher difficulties. If you like the idea of using simple math to complete small puzzles, I highly recommend CIPHER-8. It is a game I imagine myself going back to from time-to-time just to complete some quick and satisfying challenges.
