Chosen 2, developed by Little Big Lee and published by Senpai Industrial Studios, is a continuation of a modest RPG Maker-style series that leans heavily into classic JRPG conventions while attempting to broaden its narrative scope. It presents itself as a traditional, story-driven adventure built around familiar mechanics and themes, offering a straightforward experience that prioritizes accessibility and continuity over innovation. For players who appreciate old-school role-playing structures, it delivers something recognizable, though not always refined. The story picks up after the events of its predecessor, following the protagonist Edge as he finds himself in the underworld, separated from his companions and forced to navigate a new and uncertain reality. His journey revolves around reuniting with his allies and uncovering deeper truths about his past, including the fate of his family. Themes of destiny, loss, and redemption run throughout the narrative, but they are presented in a largely conventional manner. While the story has moments of emotional intent, it often relies on familiar tropes and predictable developments, which can make it feel less impactful than it aims to be. Still, for players who enjoy linear, character-focused storytelling, there is a certain charm in its sincerity. Gameplay adheres closely to the standard RPG Maker formula, featuring turn-based combat, party management, and gradual character progression. Battles are easy to understand and rarely overwhelming, making the game approachable even for those new to the genre. However, the simplicity of the system also means that it lacks depth, and combat can become repetitive over time. Enemy encounters follow predictable patterns, and the balance occasionally allows for grinding to overshadow strategic play. While the mechanics function reliably, they do little to evolve or surprise, remaining firmly rooted in familiar territory. Exploration is structured through interconnected areas rather than a traditional overworld, creating a sense of continuity between locations. This approach helps maintain flow, but the environments themselves are built largely from standard assets, which can make them feel visually generic. Towns, dungeons, and other areas serve their purpose within the game’s structure, but they rarely stand out as memorable spaces. The world feels cohesive enough to support the story, yet it lacks the distinct identity that might elevate it beyond its foundations. The game attempts to add variety through side content and additional interactions, offering optional quests and moments that expand on the world and its characters. These elements provide some extra engagement, though their quality is inconsistent. Some side activities add context and personality, while others feel disconnected or underdeveloped. The inclusion of more mature themes also contributes to the game’s tone, though their execution can feel uneven and may not resonate equally with all players. Visually, Chosen 2 remains firmly within the RPG Maker aesthetic, using pixel art and pre-existing assets that emphasize functionality over originality. While this style is serviceable and easy to read, it does little to distinguish the game from others in the same space. The audio design follows a similar pattern, supporting the experience without leaving a strong impression. Overall, the presentation is competent but lacks the polish or creativity that could make it stand out. Despite its limitations, Chosen 2 succeeds in delivering a complete and coherent RPG experience. It does not attempt to reinvent the genre, but instead offers a familiar structure that will appeal to players looking for a straightforward adventure. Its strengths lie in its consistency and accessibility, even if its lack of innovation and refinement prevents it from reaching greater heights. In the end, Chosen 2 is best viewed as a modest, nostalgia-driven title that captures the essence of classic RPG Maker games without significantly expanding on them. It provides an enjoyable, if somewhat predictable, journey for those who appreciate traditional role-playing mechanics and storytelling. Rating: 6/10

I am 32 years old. My ex-wife and I have a daughter together, and we adopted our son together. Both are now 4 years old. When we were going through our separation, I felt lost and unhappy. I was self-destructive. One day, I was so angry with everything spiraling out of control that I punched a concrete wall in a moment of overwhelming emotion. This resulted in breaking my fifth metacarpal in my right hand—the hand I worked with, played games with, and used to carry my children to bed—the hand I desperately needed to ensure I could continue providing. Upon learning the severity of the self-inflicted damage, I became almost suicidal. Keep in mind that just a few months before this, I was the happiest man, with no history of depression or anxiety. I had never experienced anger outbursts, nor was I the type to break down and cry, but I was in a tough situation that truly prevented me from seeing the light on the other side. With nothing better to do, I looked for a game I could play WITH ONE HAND while recovering. Somehow, I stumbled upon this game and read some of the comments. I decided it was worth a try... I must admit I didn't beat the game, nor did I play as much as some of you. In fact, I may have played this game for only a day or two. That being said, after doing so, I had a new joy and hope for life. I managed to leave behind the pain and suffering that had been thrust upon me. I could experience the joy and happiness of other people. I relaxed for 5 ♥♥♥♥ minutes listening to this music, long enough to realize that I would be okay. After realizing this, I turned off the game and went back to work. My hand hurt a lot, but I was motivated. I stopped feeling so sorry for myself and became the father I needed to be at that moment, not the weak boy I was behaving like. Today, I am close friends with the mother of my children. We don't fight, argue, or say hurtful things to each other. We are parents and friends. Now I have 3 children. My third child is, wait, ALSO 4 YEARS OLD. The woman I am with was going through a very similar situation at the time of my separation, and we just unexpectedly stumbled into each other's lives. We have been dating for a year and are very happy together. Moral of the story: you never know what life has in store for you, and if I had given up when all odds were against me, I wouldn't be where I am today. This silly little game helped me realize that. Thank you.
I will say buy ONLY IF CHEAP because it's short and there are actually not many roaming areas in game not allot of beauty in areas (see youtube last leg of game is all organge? what were you thinking?). That said the character art is fantastic, battle scenery is great, and asian synth music is great and the rest isn't bad just not many areas. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KQfTaNGDzlA
