Your entire playable space is a small workshop where you spend nearly all of your time. Right next to it are a tiny bedroom and bathroom, almost as if they exist just to make it seem like you’re not actually locked inside. Though, sometimes it’s hard not to wonder about that, because there’s no visible door leading outside. The only opening to the world is a small window where customers appear to place their orders. Your job is simple. Customers come to the window and ask for toys, and you can make eight different kinds. Even though the toys are different, the basic process stays almost the same each time. First, you grab a piece of wood from a crate and split it into three pieces with an axe. After that, you place the pieces on a marked spot on the table and use a saw to shape them into a rectangular block. This block becomes the main material you’ll use to create everything. You can drop or throw objects you’re holding, but the workshop is so small that nothing really gets lost behind anything. The only tools you carry around are the axe and a few paint colors, and they’re big enough that you’ll notice them right away. And if a block goes missing, it’s not a big deal. You can always just make another one. Once the block is ready, you bring it to the bandsaw and choose what you want to create. Some toys are made from a single piece, while others need smaller parts. To make those, you cut the large block in half to create smaller cubes, then bring them to the bandsaw as well and select the right shapes. There isn’t much to learn because the number of toys is limited. Only three of them require both large and small pieces. The rest are made from just one block of wood. The only slight exception is the toy car. Besides the wooden body, it also needs two axles and four wheels, but thankfully those come in unlimited supply from two boxes sitting right next to the bandsaw, so you don’t have to make them yourself. When the toy is finished, you paint it using one of the five spray cans and place it into a box to give to the customer. If the order isn’t correct, the box gets rejected and you’ll have to try again until you get it right. Fortunately, you can’t really fail. The objectives always remind you what needs to be done. After helping a few customers, the day ends. You close the shop, turn off the lights, and head to bed so a new day can begin.Still, the game feels strangely uneventful. Nothing much actually happens. Aside from the occasional comments customers make about kidnappings or about how strange you look, every day plays out almost exactly the same. There are barely any horror elements either. Just a single jumpscare and one unsettling picture hanging in your bedroom.
Apart hit me in a way I didn’t expect. On the surface it looks like a chill little crafting game, but pretty quickly it turns into this quiet, uncomfortable look at grief and obsession. Playing as Mike, an old carpenter who’s lost his family, you’re just making toys… but every order starts to feel like it’s tied to his past. The simple actions—cutting wood, painting parts, packing boxes—almost feel therapeutic at first, then gradually take on this heavy, eerie vibe as the workshop fills with darker details. What really got me is how the game never screams at you with loud jumpscares. Instead, it lets the empty workshop, the weird horror-themed props, and Mike’s situation sink in until you realize how lonely and off everything feels. It’s short, focused, and honestly perfect for one late-night session. If you like horror that feels grounded and emotional rather than just loud and flashy, Apart is absolutely worth sitting with for an evening. Click for gameplay: https://youtu.be/zRcHDjVQW7I
Rating: Dito: 1.4/5 Chat: 1.14/5 Gesamt: 1.27/5
The crafting part of the game works well and is enjoyable The graphics style and audio made the game quite atmospheric The story was short but still interesting Overall a pretty decent game worth playing
A small game with a charming art style but the game play is lacking and the game just does not have much going on, and it has some jump scares that seem really random and out of place.
This is a pretty chill game. I like the ominous vibe you get from the workshop especially with the rain that's in the background. I like the different personalities of each NPC and how they let us know what's going on in the town we're in. I was suspicious of the guy in the Red suit lol. Overall this is a chill game to sit back, relax, and just play.
