i figured its about time i did this. This game has always been great for the same reasons i joined the furry fandom - the community. to anyone that thinks otherwise is talking to the wrong people, or maybe the perceived problem is more the problem of the perceiver than that of the perceived. i love the small town feel that you get. ill take that any day over a game with 30k players, because it makes you appreciate the people that you come across. yes theres some not so great people, but thats gonna be on any social vr platform, or in real life even. unfortunately some may never realize this or may be too biased. Development may be slow, but if you take into consideration how small the dev team is, you slowly come to appreciate all the hard work they do. ill take slow development any day over a buggy game. unfortunately some will only ever be used to constant updates as thats considered normal for them. HOWEVER the devs actually listen. if theres an issue brought up, it gets fixed :) Moderation is good - because the malicious people and trolls get banned. anyone complaining that they got banned are most likely those trollers/bad actors. This game is a night and day difference compared to VRChat with its performance. because this game primarily uses your cpu instead of your gpu, you tend to get better performance. even before i had my rx 6400 and had my gt 1030, i still got better frames on here. with my rx 6400 i get 60 fps in the majority of the worlds im in. My specs below is proof you dont need a high end system to play in VR :) combine that with a old vr headset, you can play on here for under $500! Unfortunately some less technically inclined people cant tell the difference between ChilloutVR and VRChat because they're both unity based games, which may make them feel similar.
my chilloutVR account got linked to my steam account. now i cant log in to the website and its in limbo of a sort. i have tried to contact customer support, and is completely ignored. the negative review is not set in stone
Actually this game has great potential. Here are the things devs should consider prioritizing, UI overhaul. UI could be confusing, and rough around the edges. Especially that ugly welcome screen in red lasers. It's so irritating. Also it should be more informative, clicks to be reduced. As far as I understood, it still doesn't have something like vrchat's udon/sharp, because there are almost no games in this game. This needs to get adressed as fast as possible. Better avatar sdk, ideally a companion app, Integrate common stuff people use in vrchat, such as gogoloco. Sit/liedown poses shouldn't be rocket science.
i have a review on vrchat and it basically sums up everything i need to say for this game aswell, except for the longtime friends part extra thing tho, if vrchat goes down at any point, and this game is still up, you got this game, and/or resonite. (also this is just vrchat if eac didnt wreak havoc)
came back after about 5 years to check out what changed and it feels more like it didnt get any meaningfull updates. when i first played it i did hang out a few times with the german community i was friends with but this time i havnt seen anyone online save your time and play a different social game
W Game, Great features and great team.
Its free and its well made but I wasnt able to find players. This games seems to have more freedom than something like VR chat. There is a lot less rules. I did have trouble finding an avatar. When I searched for a male one, I only got a handful of results. Most, if not all the avatars were either anime or a furry. I dont really mind this but I was looking for a normal one and I couldnt find. I think the game has way more worlds than Vrchat but yeah its really hard to find anyone. Im not sure why. I found this game a lot easier to log in and set up. I would like to know why its hard to find anyone on here.
Might be better then vrchat ngl
it is way better then vrchat there is more freedom i would reccomend both chilloutvr and there mature content dlc if you are at the age of 18
I might not have a lot of hours playing this game despite joining it a few years ago (I blame VRC due to how dominate it is as a platform), but this platform is much more freeing, they have been making very fun and important updates to the game recently! I just hope people care to join this and not compare it to the Titan (a very disgusting one) that is VRC. Im a very shy person and struggle interacting with players, but from what ive seen and heard by being out of site, the community is very welcoming and open, and those who claim that its full of pedos but praise VRC, go get help cause you can make that case against ANY platform you exist on, VRC needs better tools and moderation staff due to the amount of false bans they've dished out to players who've done nothing wrong. IMO ChilloutVR is quite the Chill place, they actually communicate with the community when they can, they work with supported modders (AND HAVE HIRED A FEW) to help make sure the game adds functions or bug fixes that allow for ease of use! And they do plan on Adding Quest support, but right now from what ive seen, they have paused that to make sure all base functionalitys they want in the platform are there before adding a new platform. (if any devs see this, I did see ChilloutVR over on the SideQuest App, IDK if that was you guys or someone else, but if it was you guys, you should have probably made an annoucement about it, if not, see if you can chat with the people over at SideQuest)
