Chibi Reboot

"Chibi Reboot" is an RPG Maker construction kit flip (yes, RPG Maker does deserve all the hate it gets, it's awful), but instead of making an RPG with it (which is the only thing it's even remotely capable of, and it's not very good at that either), we have a weird German Pac-Man ripoff. When you woke up today and fired up Steam, was the first thing on your mind "Man, I really want t to play a German Pac-Man ripoff, but I don't want it to be good, I want it to be an RPG Maker asset flip"? If not, then this is not a game you want. This features really godawful, lazy pixelcrap "art" instead of real graphics. It's hard to say if this was because the developer didn't have the skill to do the job of creating 3D visuals, or couldn't afford to hire someone who does, but it also doesn't matter. What matters is that this looks bad because of that decision, and that's a major deterrent to gamers. Games like Terraria and Stardew Valley succeeded [i]despite[/i] the bad graphics, not because of them. This is "free" enough, at least you won't be expected to spend any more money after you download this, but just because something is free doesn't mean it's good. Even though this is "free", it failed to appeal to the 120 million+ gamers on Steam. SteamDB showed the game peaked at only 2 concurrent players... this is a dismal public reception. This was so bad they couldn't even give it away. Bearing in mind that free games don't add +1 to your game collector count, should you bother adding this to your library and downloading it? Nope. This isn't worth downloading. While this didn't cost me any money up front, I still feel ripped off.

Однако, игра страдает от повторяющегося геймплея. Задания часто сводятся к уничтожению волн врагов на одних и тех же локациях, что быстро надоедает. Сюжет, хоть и пытается быть интересным, подается довольно сумбурно и не всегда захватывает. Кроме того, система прокачки ощущается слишком медленной и требует значительного количества времени или внутриигровых покупок для прогресса. В целом, "Chibi Reboot" может понравиться поклонникам казуальных RPG с милой графикой. Но тем, кто ищет глубокую сюжетную линию или сложную боевую систему, стоит поискать что-то другое. Игра имеет потенциал, но нуждается в доработке в плане разнообразия геймплея и более сбалансированной системе прогресса.
