Chess of Blades

Just replay the game and still think it's a nice one. The art and voice acting decent enough, I like how each route have it own unique story to tell and how other character (both main and side one) are acting from each other route. My favorite is the knight. He is not my type, but I like how he turn on his serious, sincere mode. Franz is... well... both his way of talking and his voice make me cringe everytime he open his mouth. I kinda sad about Lin route though. He is my type and the chemistry between him and Riv just how I like it. But when Riv have feeling for him, I started get bored because Lin taking the lead with Riv unable to talk back to him here and there, the balance in their relationship is gone, Riv become too submissive to Lin domination for my taste. I like Sabre route too, but [spoiler] that 3P adult scene feel out of nowhere, especially since it is not a 3P route and they didn't ask Riv first hand before doing it.[/spoiler] Such a pity that we didn't reach the stretch goal for Silas.

I only played the steam version without the patch yet, but this game is adorable. And pretty exciting. The MC is easily likeable, as well as all of the other characters. And the music is beautiful, especially the one we hear when the credits roll.

Hello, the game is amazing but i dont have the 18+ i wished for and i dont know how to install it even if i have looked for the patch folder. Can someone help me plz?

Kocham tę grę. Dubbing jest wspaniały, historia jest ciekawa, a Arden skradł moje serce. Jedyne czego żałuje to to że kupiłam grę w przecenie - autorzy zasłużyli na pełna cenę :) Pierwsze przejście (jedna trasa) zajęło mi 4h. P. S. Dla osób zainteresowanych wersją 18+ polecam zajrzeć do działu dyskusje. Bo wersja bez patcha (jest darmowy!) to 13+.

Its a cute gay visual novel. There just really aren't enough of those.

I give this game a recommend with an asterisk. I enjoyed my time with it...eventually. I had to really push through the first time, and I was thankful for the skip button on the other routes--not just because of the repetition, but because I found there was a lot of filler and just downright boring stuff, especially at the beginning. There was also a lot of missed opportunity when it came to the choices. The ones that existed were often silly (whether to eat vegetables or cake at dinner), while there were other places in the story where the MC made a decision without my input, and it could have allowed for some character flavor, at the very least. I understand that adds complexity and length to a game like this, so having (in my opinion) too few choices may simply have been a matter of controlling scope...but I felt the lack. Despite my criticisms, I enjoyed all the routes (some more than others) and do not regret spending the time on this one. I'd buy it on sale, though. I'd be miffed if I'd paid full price.

My first and favorite gay, story-based game. All love interests are unique and have a different relationship with the main character, and I can see why every pair works. You definitely want to complete all the routes to unlock the final love interest, but also because each story-line takes a different turn. There's a lot more crime-solving than I expected and I love it. Still on the lookout for an lgbt game I enjoy as much as this one.

This game delivers mystery, charm, beautiful art, 4 diverging routes with meaningful choices, and excellent voice acting all the way through. Expect some cliches but it's entertaining enough to be well worth the occasional scoffing. Is it any wonder this is one of my favourite comfort games? I've enjoyed it many times over the years, and I hope to enjoy it many more times. P.s. It did take me this long to review it due to the occasional fat phobia, misogyny, ableism, and xenophobia in game.
