Chess of Blades

The art, music, voice acting, and game interface are all top-notch, but the writing is unfortunately very bland and predictable. None of the characters evolve beyond their assigned role of stuck-up shrew, wide-eyed innocent, affable rogue, or condescending authority figure.

This game delivers mystery, charm, beautiful art, 4 diverging routes with meaningful choices, and excellent voice acting all the way through. Expect some cliches but it's entertaining enough to be well worth the occasional scoffing. Is it any wonder this is one of my favourite comfort games? I've enjoyed it many times over the years, and I hope to enjoy it many more times. P.s. It did take me this long to review it due to the occasional fat phobia, misogyny, ableism, and xenophobia in game.

My most enjoyable game from Argent Games. The BxB spiciest scenes are all within context and within character too. Story really got me to finish the game super quick. Would replay again honestly.

One of the first visual novels I've played. Interesting story and paths depending on what love interest you choose. Love the voice acting.

It's easier to immerse in this game for me muting the voice acting and playing the PG-13 version from Steam. That said, the music, the main character, the plot was good, Arden's route was super wholesome, Franz’s was exciting but Linnaeus one...I felt like what happened to the stoic nerd? Lol

I've only played Arden's route so far but I really enjoyed it. The full voice acting was great, especially for the protagonist and love interests.

Amusing game. All very court intrigue and elevated language, then suddenly the mc thinks somebody can go suck on a pile of c***s. I snickered a lot during this one.

Bro this game is so damn good! I got all the endings and I loved each and every character! The story is amazing and I love how much it changes depending on which one of the characters you go after!

Questo gioco è fantastico!!! Ho amato le varie storie e i personaggi. I disegni sono veramente incredibili e l'ironia del protagonista è come la ciliegina sulla torta. Il doppiaggio è qualcosa di stupendo, le voci dei personaggi trasmettono diverse emozioni, davvero un lavoro ben fatto! Consiglio questo gioco a chi ha bisogno di dolcezza nella sua vita: questo gioco è pieno di momenti che faranno sciogliere il vostro cuore come zucchero. Per i più maturi, sono sicur* che vi divertirete anche a seguire le scene a luci rosse nella versione +18 del gioco!! Spero di trovare un gioco che possa accontentarmi come questo ha fatto!!
