Honestly one of the worst entries I've came across in this genre. Extremely boring and repetitive, no meta-progression of any kind. Slow and clunky controls/gameplay. This is like 1/3 of a game at best.
"Cheftastic!: Buffet Blast" is what looks like a console game in the wrong place. It's a top down console shooter that I thought was a student project until I saw this used to have a price tag. I'm guessing it didn't pan out because there's no price now, but that still doesn't mean there's value for money here. What do you do in the game? It's some middle-of-the-road console game top down shooting that doesn't do much that games like Contra did decades ago. You're a chef and you shoot a bunch of mutant vegetables or something. It's like all the good ideas for video games were taken and this is all that was left. This looks a lot like it was designed for consoles, but released on Steam instead by mistake. While this is on PC, it has all the hallmarks and deficiencies of a console game, from the clunkier than needed control scheme to the less than cutting edge graphics. There's 10's of thousands of PC games on Steam, and PC gamers deserve only the best. This might not appeal to many gamers due to the lack of PC-centric design. It's unclear why this never made it to the video game console appliances it seems to have been designed for. I'm not sure if this is an asset flip, but it's one of those cases where the assets just look much better than the rest of the quality of the game... a glaring inconsistency. There's no evidence, but as always, the biggest problem with asset flips besides the plagiarism is the deplorably low quality of the other aspects of the game, and even if the game assets are genuinely created for the game, the quality of the rest of the game is indistinguishable from that of asset flips. This is far from the worst game I've seen on Steam but the game is built on an obsolete format (we have 3D graphics now, top down shooting is over) for a platform that PC isn't, and the gameplay is repetitive after 5 minutes. Now on to pricing and value for gamers. There's no initial download price, but the developer was charging $11 USD for this. Price barriers, especially on low quality products, can be a direct cause of failure. It seems like a nice gesture for the game to have no up-front cost anymore, but it also tells us that the game wasn't good enough to succeed as a paid product. This is also a bit of a slap in the face to anyone who showed enough questionable judgement to pay money for this... nobody got refunded. In terms of public reception, this failed. There's over 130 million unique gamers visiting Steam every month. SteamDB showed the game peaked at only 9 concurrent players... this is a dismal public reception. This was so bad they couldn't even give it away. It's important to note that, despite this being such a low quality product, there's a number of positive reviews that all appeared immediately after the game launched, from suspiciously inactive Steam accounts that have reviewed almost no other games apart from this. Take the review score of this game with a grain of salt. Bearing in mind that free games don't add +1 to your game collector count, should you bother adding this to your library and downloading it? What's the verdict? This one scores a "nope". While it won't necessarily cost you money, the time and hard drive space it requires could be better invested in one of the many higher-quality alternatives on Steam.

*Cheftastic!: Buffet Blast* is a fast-paced, top-down arcade shooter that serves up a hearty helping of chaos, humor, and addictive gameplay. The premise is delightfully wacky—players take control of a chef who’s battling against mutant vegetables to reclaim the Isle of Verdura. The colorful, retro-inspired graphics give the game a fresh, modern look while maintaining the feel of a classic shooter, making it an enjoyable ride from start to finish. The gameplay is what really stands out here. With over 70 arenas to tackle, *Cheftastic!* ensures there's always something new around the corner to keep you on your toes. The mutant vegetables come in different shapes and sizes, each posing its own challenge. Whether you're dodging the more persistent enemies or fending off swarms of attackers, the action never lets up. The game’s arsenal of powerful pickups is a big part of what keeps things exciting, offering plenty of ways to turn the tide in your favor as you blast through each stage. As for the difficulty, *Cheftastic!* is accessible, with an easy learning curve that allows anyone to jump in, but it also has that "easy to learn, hard to master" appeal. Competing for the top spot on the leaderboard can be as satisfying as it is frustrating, especially when you're gunning for that number one spot. There’s a slight grind if you care about leaderboards, but it’s not overwhelming, and the pursuit of those high scores is part of the fun. The game’s audio is good, with upbeat music and satisfying sound effects that complement the action without overwhelming it. And while there are a few minor bugs, they don’t detract from the overall experience too much. In terms of who’ll enjoy *Cheftastic!*, the game is perfect for all ages—kids, teens, adults, and even grandma can have a blast with this one. Its simple controls make it easy for newcomers to dive right in, while the competitive element will keep players hooked for hours. It's fun, challenging, and a little bit addictive, especially for those who love competitive arcade games. The quirky premise and solid gameplay mechanics make it a refreshing experience, and with its constant updates from the developers, it's clear they’re committed to making it even better. If you’re into arcade shooters, high-score chases, or just want a fun way to pass the time, this one’s worth every penny.
If you're looking for a review on this game you've come to the wrong place, but if you're looking for an outstanding pie recipe you've come to the right place. Ingredients: 1. 6 tablespoons unsalted butter 2. 1/2 cup white sugar 3. 1/2 cup brown sugar 4. 1/4 cup water 5. 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon 6. 1 pinch salt 7. 5 apples - peeled, cored and sliced 8. 1 pastry for double-crust pie Directions: 1. Preheat oven to 425 degrees F (220 degrees C). 2. Combine butter, white sugar, brown sugar, water, cinnamon, and salt in a saucepan over medium heat. Bring to a boil, remove from heat and set aside. 3. Roll out half the pastry to fit a 9-inch pie plate. Place bottom crust in pie plate; pour in apple slices. 4. Roll out top crust into a 10-inch circle. Cut into 8 (1-inch) wide strips with a sharp paring knife or pastry wheel. Weave the pastry strips, one at a time, into a lattice pattern. Fold the ends of the lattice strips under the edge of the bottom crust and crimp to seal. 5. Pour butter-sugar mixture over top of pie, coating the lattice, and allowing any remaining sauce to drizzle through the crust. 6. Bake in the preheated oven for 15 minutes. Reduce heat to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C), and bake until the crust is golden brown, the caramel on the top crust is set, and the apple filling is bubbling, 35 to 40 more minutes. Allow to cool completely before slicing. Enjoy!
