Charlotte: A Soft Femdom Game

I really wanted to like this game but just did not. The positives: The main character design of Charlotte. I like how she's just the sort of average women you would see on the street and not a strange blow-up doll like you see in many Visual Novels. I was very tempted to give it a positive review just for that alone, but it would have been disingenuous and misleading to do so. If Steam allowed for Neutral reviews, I may have chosen that because she definitely elevates the game significantly. The premise is enticing. You get offered to live with an attractive women free of charge, you just have to fulfil her physical desires from time to time. With the long hours she spends at work, you're definitely getting the better end of the deal out of this one. The negatives: Everything else. The English text is poor (other languages may vary), but I can forgive that for a game this independent. With that said, the dialogue is pretty cringeworthy. Although, maybe the way the characters speak to each other is accurate to the "femdom" scene and that's how they're supposed to speak to each other? If it is, you can ignore that criticism. The story just abruptly ends and then the game locks up completely and you have to force quit. Very strange, I don't know whether that was intended to be the final ending other whether there is an intention to expand on in it future? The story itself gets very repetitive, you just wait for Charlotte to come home and you get a short story scene to end the day, you go to bed, then repeat the cycle, that's it. There's a Nurse character that is very obviously just taken from somewhere else and pasted in. She is an anime style completely dissonant with the rest of the game and has choppy edges where it looks like she was cut out with Microsoft Paint. It's a one off thing because she only appears once near the start of the game, but it's really dodgy. Maybe she was a placeholder during development that was accidentally left in? --- Steam Deck review: I played this on Steam Deck. It was a nightmare getting it running, I spent 20 minutes experimenting with different Protons until I found one that was stable. But if you persevere, it will work on Steam Deck if you want it to. It plays without any issues on my Windows desktop though. --- I presume this is the Developer's first game. If so, they clearly have a passion and with some refinement I think they could make a pretty decent game. This may be a negative review, but I'm still thinking about this game a few days later and how I wished I liked it and could recommend it. It shows there's a spark of something there. The game came out in March 2025 and it looks like I'm the first review of it in March 2026, so it looks like the game didn't get much attention. I hope the Developer keeps trying and we get more polished games with characters that look like Charlotte in future.
