How is it possible that Steam accepts games likes this??? 20,99€ from a game that you play through in 5 minutes, with full achievements! I know it's in early access, but still. Hede Games, welcome to my blacklist. I got this from a bundle, so i can't get a refund. But i think i ask Valve to remove it anyway from my library. There is only 19 movies you need guess / know (18 if you watch the introducing video, there is one spoiler). It also has one of the most terrible game music of all time (It's also on the video. And that is the whole song. It repeats) One weird thing that seems fishy, is that the game takes space almost 9gb. Why? The content is like 100mb max. Do yourself a favor and just watch the 9 sec video. Or do yourself A BIG favor and don't watch the clip and leave from this page for good.
My Personal Game Score: 0 / 10 + There is nothing positive about this game - DO NOT BUY THIS GAME! - Trash game design - Meh, game mechanics - Trash game SFX - Overpriced game - Trash game overall - This game should not exist on Steam

I hate leaving negative reviews, however there are cases when you just can't do otherwise, no matter how condescending, tolerant or benevolent you are. Projects from this developer, such as this game, take 15-30 minutes to complete. However, in order to run these games, you will have to do some manipulations - regarding the compatibility of the application, or running *.exe through the administrator, or something like that. I don't know if this has always been the case, or if it only works on certain system builds, but it does. I have seen only a couple of complaints in discussions in other games from this author, but the problem affects almost all the games made by him that I tried. That being said, the games themselves carry an astonishingly high "artificial" price tag and an astonishingly high weight, both for their content and overall length.
Warning: Asset Flip! Charades Movie One is a Digital Homicide style asset flip, or what Valve calls a "Fake Game". The "developer" paid for/pirated a few Unity asset store assets, dumped them all in a blender, and submitted it to Valve as if they're real game developers.
Two notable criteria for what makes an asset flip instead of legitimate use of stock assets are whether those assets comprise the majority of the game, and whether the "developer" properly credited the people who created most of the assets in the game. This game fails both of those tests. The "developers" here didn't credit any of the artists and real, actual game developers who created the assets here, so this is plagiarism, as well as cash grab shovelware. An important note: Hede are known asset flippers and have previously taken other developers work and put it on Steam in an attempt to scam gamers and get paid for someone else's effort. Hede have shown a repeated pattern of trying to scam gamers, here are some examples of other asset flip scams they've pulled:

"Archaeology - Frozen Village" = Flat Poly Winter Village developed by Zololgo, flipped by Hede
"3D PUZZLE - Sun Temple" = Sun Temple developed by Sandra T, flipped by Hede
"Old Retro Shooter" = Hellish Battle 2.5D Retro FPS developed by Tiny Slime Studio, flipped by Hede
"Street Football" = Street Football Game developed by noureddine naceur, flipped by Hede
"Save and Survive" = Survival Engine developed by Indie Marc, flipped by Hede
"Scream or Die - Virtual Circus" = Cursed Toys Pack developed by Serhat Yucekaya, flipped by Hede
"Archaeology - Frozen Knights" = Polygon Knights Low Poly 3D Art developed by Synty Studios, flipped by Hede
"3D PUZZLE - Pizza Shop 1" = Pizza Shop Kit developed by Brick Project Studio, flipped by Hede
"Hidden World 10 Top-Down 3D" = Polygon Pirates Low Poly 3D asset pack developed by Synty Games, flipped by Hede
"3D Puzzle - Hospital 4" = Hospital Medical Office Kit developed by Brick Project Studio, flipped by Hede
"Fears of Glasses o-o World War" = Polygon War Map developed by Synty Studios, flipped by Hede
"Hidden Build Top-Down 3D" = Polygon Construction Low Poly 3D Art developed by Synty Studios, flipped by Hede
In this case, the asset flipper took a basic Unity word game/image matching template and populated with stolen emoji assets to make a 5 minute long "quiz" about movies... and slapped a ridiculous price tag on someone else's emoji assets. A common scam from a repeat offending Russian asset flipper. It has no value or merit as a real game. The poor quality of this game is reflected by how many people spent time with it. At the time of this review, SteamDB shows the game all-time peak player count was only ONE player. That's right, only one person ever played this at a time. When I played this for the purposes of reviewing it, I equalled the peak player count for the game. OUCH. The only player activity occurs once or twice a month, presumably someone loading it up to see what it is then quickly uninstalling it. Considering there's over 120 million gamers on Steam and well over 110,000 games for gamers to choose from, the overwhelming lack of interest in this low quality game is to be expected. It's also important to note the "developer" here has connections to a number of shady Russian asset flippers and review manipulators who show an organised pattern to scam and defraud gamers with fake reviews and asset flipping the work of others for profit. While reviews are about the games, gamers should be informed when developers act unethically. Whether these connections are the same developer using multiple accounts, or just working closely with other unethical developers, gamers should be warned about the harm to gamers by this developer and their associates. Buying games from unethical developers puts your money at risk. This kind of asset flipping isn't harmless. It makes it harder for gamers to find genuinely made games from ethical developers. It makes it harder for genuine indie developers, who put hard work into trying to make real games, to find an audience for their products. It gives indie developers a bad name. So, should you buy this asset flip? Is this better than any of the 110,000+ genuinely made games on Steam? Of course not! Charades Movie One has the completely insane price of $200 USD, which is incredibly suspicious, higher than AAA pricing for an asset flip shovelware scam game. Why would the "developer" put such a high price tag on an asset flip with no true value as a game? There's no direct proof for this, but it's entirely possible this game is priced this way for money laundering or other criminal purposes. Higher prices allow more money to move with fewer transactions. Valve have previously banned developers for running money laundering scams. While there's no direct evidence in this case, it's highly suspicious and gamers should be wary. Given the defects and quality issues with the game, coupled with the unrealistic price, and the questionable ethical nature of the developer and/or their associates (as outlined above), this is impossible to recommend.
Profile Features Limited! Valve have marked this game as "Profile Features Limited" at the time of this review. This is usually caused by poor sales figures and low community acceptance for the game (to date). Until this status changes, this game will not give you +1 to your Game Collector badge count, appear in profile achievements or any other Steam meta-accomplishments, nor can it be displayed in some profile showcases. If these factors are important to you, it may be worth holding off before buying this game.
Charades Movie One is a casual puzzle and trivia-style game created and published by Hede Games. Built around a very simple concept, the game challenges players to identify well-known movie titles using visual clues. Rather than offering complex gameplay mechanics or a narrative-driven experience, the title focuses on quick puzzle-solving sessions that test the player’s familiarity with popular cinema. It functions as a digital interpretation of the classic charades guessing game, where imagery and symbolic hints replace spoken clues. The core idea behind the game is straightforward. Each puzzle presents a movie title alongside a selection of illustrated images. The player must determine which of these images best represent the film and select them in the correct combination. Some images may refer to iconic objects, settings, or themes associated with the movie, while others serve as distractions meant to confuse the player. Successfully choosing the correct visual clues advances the player to the next puzzle, while incorrect guesses require another attempt. This format creates a gameplay loop that sits somewhere between a quiz game and a visual puzzle challenge. Instead of solving logical problems or navigating levels, players rely on their knowledge of films and their ability to interpret symbolic hints. For example, a movie might be represented by a combination of objects that reference key elements of its story or characters. In some cases the clues are obvious, while in others they require a bit more creative thinking to connect the imagery with the film title. Because of this structure, familiarity with popular movies becomes the most important skill. Players who recognize references from mainstream films may find many puzzles relatively easy to solve, while those less familiar with certain movies may struggle to identify the intended clues. This dynamic gives the game a social trivia-like quality, where recognizing cultural references becomes part of the challenge. The pacing of Charades Movie One is intentionally relaxed. There are no complicated mechanics, time pressures, or demanding controls. Players simply examine the available images and select their choices using the interface. This simplicity makes the game easy to pick up and play in short sessions, whether someone wants to solve a few puzzles during a break or spend a longer period working through the full set of challenges. Progression is tied to a scoring system that rewards correct answers. Successfully identifying the right clues increases the player’s score and contributes to leaderboard rankings. This element introduces a small competitive component for players who enjoy comparing their performance with others. Achievements are also included, giving completionists additional objectives such as solving all puzzles or reaching certain score thresholds. Visually, the game uses a minimalistic 2D presentation designed primarily for clarity. The interface displays the movie title and a selection of simple illustrations that serve as clues. These graphics are not intended to be highly detailed or cinematic; instead they function as straightforward visual symbols that players can quickly interpret. The overall presentation is clean and functional, though it remains quite basic compared to larger puzzle titles. The user interface follows a similarly simple design philosophy. Menus are easy to navigate, puzzles are presented clearly, and players can move from one challenge to the next without unnecessary complexity. This accessibility ensures that even players who rarely play puzzle games can understand how everything works almost immediately. Sound design in Charades Movie One remains subtle. Background music plays quietly during gameplay, creating a relaxed atmosphere that allows players to focus on interpreting the clues. Simple sound effects provide feedback when selections are made, confirming whether a guess is correct or incorrect. While the audio presentation is not particularly elaborate, it supports the casual tone of the experience. The game’s biggest strength lies in its accessibility and straightforward concept. The rules are simple, the puzzles are quick to attempt, and the theme of guessing movie titles can be appealing to anyone who enjoys film trivia. The occasional moment when the correct combination of images suddenly makes sense can feel satisfying, particularly when a puzzle initially seems confusing. However, the simplicity that makes the game easy to understand also limits its long-term appeal. Because the core gameplay never evolves beyond selecting images related to movie titles, the experience can begin to feel repetitive after several puzzles. Without additional mechanics or puzzle variations, the game relies almost entirely on the player’s interest in movie trivia to maintain engagement. Another limitation is the relatively small scale of the project. The visual presentation and puzzle structure reflect the modest scope of the development team. Players looking for a deeper puzzle system, story elements, or more dynamic gameplay may find the experience somewhat minimal. Despite these shortcomings, Charades Movie One can still serve as a lighthearted diversion for players who enjoy casual brain teasers. Its film-themed puzzles offer a small but entertaining way to test recognition skills and knowledge of cinema. For players who appreciate simple guessing games and pop-culture references, the experience can provide a few enjoyable moments. Ultimately, Charades Movie One works best as a quick, relaxed puzzle activity rather than a full-scale gaming experience. It captures the spirit of charades by turning movie recognition into a visual guessing challenge, but it remains limited in scope and variety. Players approaching the game with expectations of a casual trivia puzzle will likely find it entertaining in short bursts, while those seeking deeper gameplay may find it lacking in complexity.
