This game jumps you right into the action. The combat system forces attention to detail with it's block and parry system. Can take a round or two to get used to but once you do you're off the races. Great game to jump into with a group of friends.
Fun game. Similar combat to For Honor, with attaching and blocking from different directions & a parry system. But the magic is a nice spin, and a lot of fun! Also, a nice skill tree for spells which is well done. Good time, excited to see where the dev takes it
Champion of Andia is an independent fantasy action RPG that centers its experience around character growth, arena combat, and multiplayer cooperation. Developed and published by DCJ Group LLC, the game places players in the role of an aspiring hero tasked with rising through the ranks to become the legendary defender of the Andian Empire. While the narrative serves primarily as a backdrop rather than the main attraction, it provides enough motivation to support the game's steady cycle of battling enemies, earning rewards, and improving a custom-built champion. One of the game's most appealing features is the freedom offered during character creation. Players can select from several fantasy races and begin shaping a hero according to their preferred playstyle. This sense of ownership continues throughout the adventure as experience points, gold, equipment, and abilities gradually transform a relatively weak recruit into a powerful warrior. The progression system is easy to understand but remains rewarding because every upgrade has a noticeable impact on combat effectiveness. Combat forms the heart of the experience and distinguishes Champion of Andia from many similarly scaled indie RPGs. Battles are built around directional melee mechanics, encouraging players to pay attention to movement, timing, and positioning rather than simply attacking without strategy. Magical abilities further expand combat options, allowing players to combine physical attacks with spells and special skills. The result is a gameplay loop that remains engaging through a combination of tactical decision-making and character development. The game's equipment system contributes significantly to long-term replay value. With hundreds of weapon and armor assets available, players are encouraged to experiment with different builds and visual styles. Some may focus on creating heavily armored frontline fighters, while others may prefer agile combatants or heroes that rely heavily on magical abilities. This variety helps make progression feel personal and gives players meaningful goals beyond simply increasing their level. Champion of Andia also embraces multiplayer gameplay as a major component of its design. Cooperative missions allow friends to tackle challenges together, adding an enjoyable social dimension to the experience. Team-based battles and free-for-all PvP modes further increase the amount of available content, offering opportunities for players to test both their skills and character builds against other human opponents. These multiplayer features provide welcome variety and help extend the game's longevity beyond its core PvE activities. As an Early Access title, however, the game is still developing toward its full potential. The foundation is solid, but some areas can feel limited compared to larger and more established action RPGs. Enemy variety, mission diversity, and overall content scope are still evolving, and players may occasionally notice repetitive patterns during extended play sessions. Fortunately, the developer has outlined plans for additional maps, equipment, missions, enemies, and gameplay features, suggesting that the current version is intended as the starting point rather than the finished product. Visually, Champion of Andia prioritizes functionality over cutting-edge presentation. The graphics effectively communicate the fantasy setting and support the action without demanding powerful hardware. While the visuals may not compete with major studio productions, they serve the gameplay well and help maintain smooth performance. The straightforward presentation complements the game's focus on combat, progression, and multiplayer interaction. Overall, Champion of Andia succeeds as a focused fantasy action RPG that understands what it wants to deliver. Its strengths lie in satisfying character progression, flexible customization, skill-based combat mechanics, and enjoyable multiplayer options. Although its Early Access status means there is still room for growth and refinement, the existing content provides a promising and entertaining foundation. Players seeking a cooperative fantasy RPG with steady progression and accessible yet engaging combat will likely find plenty of reasons to continue their journey through the world of Andia. Rating: 6/10
I've been involved in this game since very early development. It's come a LONG way. The combat system is really fun and challenging. Will take you a few missions to get used to it. But once you get the hang of it, it's really fun! You can also use spells & other abilities which is a nice twist over similar combat styled games. Coop with some friends is a good time!
