A short interactive novel. There is no "truth" in this game. This is not an armchair detective story—it is simply about a girl in a stall. You will advise the protagonist, determine how she perceives everything around her, and witness her ending.
Revenue comes from in-game items and microtransactions, which our price-based model doesn't estimate. The player count below is how many people own it, not what they spent.
About
As stated in the overview, the playtime for this work is around 30 to 60 minutes—not including the time needed to unlock all endings.
Our protagonist is a girl named Utsu-chan, and you will act as her friend and guide. What you do together is more than just casual chat—it carries a deeper significance.
The game spans five days. Each day, you will hear rumors about different girls. "Truth" doesn't matter—all you need to do is decide what kind of voice to respond with to Utsu-chan inside the stall. Your accumulated choices will lead you to different endings.
This is a story about loneliness, misunderstanding, fragile emotions, and the bonds between girls—set among ceramics, stainless steel, and neurotransmitters.
・Warning:
This work contains descriptions and expressions that may be disturbing, including but not limited to school bullying, social anxiety, depressive tendencies, and inappropriate behavior by minors.
All content represents the protagonist's subjective experience and is not intended to encourage or glorify any such actions.
*This game currently supports Chinese only. English localizations are planned and will be added via a free update shortly after the initial release.
Ceramic · Stainless Steel · Neurotransmitter is a very strange little interactive novel, and I mean that in a good way. I went into it expecting a simple visual novel, but the psychological horror angle makes the experience feel much more uncomfortable than the cute looking presentation initially suggests. The entire story revolves around a girl sitting in a stall, and I am put in the position of advising her and influencing how she understands what is happening around her. It is a very small setup, but it creates a surprisingly personal atmosphere. What I liked most is the way the game refuses to give me a clear answer about what is actually true. This is not presented as a detective story where I am supposed to solve a mystery and eventually uncover the correct explanation. Instead, my choices affect the protagonist's perception and the way the story develops. I found that approach much more interesting because I was constantly wondering whether I was helping her or simply pushing her further into a particular interpretation of events. The choice system is simple, but it works well for such a short experience. I get different pieces of dialogue and information before deciding what advice to give, and those decisions can change what I see later. There are multiple endings, so I also had a reason to go back and make different choices instead of treating the game as something I would only experience once. I like when a short narrative game gives me enough uncertainty that replaying it can actually change how I think about what I just saw. The visual presentation is another part I enjoyed. The game uses a stylized two dimensional look that can appear cute at first, but that contrast works surprisingly well with the psychological horror. The writing and presentation gradually make the situation feel stranger without needing huge environments or complicated gameplay. It is very much a text focused experience, so the atmosphere depends heavily on the dialogue, character reactions and the little details surrounding the protagonist. The biggest weakness for me is the length. This is intentionally a short interactive novel, so there is not a huge amount of gameplay beyond reading, making choices and seeing how those choices affect the story. That is not necessarily a problem, but I do think it limits how much time I can spend with the characters and ideas. I also think the strange premise will not work for everyone because the game is much more interested in ambiguity and psychological discomfort than giving me straightforward answers. The language support is also something I would keep in mind. The game launched with Simplified Chinese as its main text language, while English, Traditional Chinese and Japanese were added as achievement language support rather than full story localization. Since the entire experience is based around reading and understanding dialogue, this can make a major difference depending on which language I want to play in. The accessibility options are otherwise quite thoughtful, with adjustable text size, colour alternatives, volume controls and the ability to play at my own pace. Overall, I think Ceramic · Stainless Steel · Neurotransmitter is a surprisingly effective little psychological horror story. It does not need complicated mechanics because its main strength is making me question what I am being told and what my choices are actually doing to the protagonist. The short length holds it back somewhat, but I still enjoyed the unusual premise and the uncomfortable atmosphere. For a free interactive novel, I think it is worth checking out if I like strange stories where there is no simple answer waiting at the end. Rating: 6.6/10
啊啊啊,最后一个结局咋搞啊。我要哭了。{求指点}
