Best new digital card game I’ve tried in the last three years. The game mechanics are refreshingly new and require you to make meaningful decisions all the time. The game is very well polished visually for an EA release, the UI is slick and clean, I like the art style, the lore is intriguing, and the developers are super friendly and responsive. I guess, I’ll be in this for the long haul. Edit: I did have the chance to play this shortly before EA, so I have a few more hours in it than being shown here.
Please follow United Critics for quality reviews
Causa, Voices of the Dusk Review

Good things
This is a good card game. The tutorial is made into 5 episodes but I would like it to be even bigger to explain a few things I didn’t know at start. Don’t get me wrong tutorial teach you how to play and it shows you that this game is easy to play but hard to master. While there exists campaigns you can buy for a resources in game and play them I think the meat of the game is in player vs player and creating your own custom made deck. And oh boy there are so many cards to pick from and so many ways to build your deck. I had been playing using mostly Glory deck and while I was playing against other players I have seen many people and many decks and each deck was unique so I think you are only limited by your imagination and tactic. I myself tried out 5 different decks build with Glory deck and I know there are more combinations than that. You build a deck using 30 cards but there are 250 cards in the game right now and if I’m correct you can only have 2 identical cards so most of the time you will pick 15-20 cards you like to create a deck of 30 cards. Only once I have waited for 2 minutes for a pvp match but most times it is 2-15 seconds to find someone, also in right top corner you see “Player searching game” and that means that there are people that want to pvp so it is easy to just jump in. What is different that other cards games is that you don’t have to attack enemy cards you can attack enemy hp from the start and that gives you more tactical options because you must choose if you want to deal dmg to enemy hp or maybe destroy some of his strong cards. Also you can’t just spam cards as max you can have 4 characters cards and 4 support cards on the table so you have to pick what to play and when to use what support. There are also a ton of things to unlock like leaders, cards, card backs, backgrounds, banners, avatars and titles. Casual pvp is fun but there is also a grayed out “ranked” and that means some hardcore ranked pvp games will be added in the future and it shows that developers want to improve game in the future.
Bad things
To play you need to create an account and there is no option to just log in with your Steam account and I know that can be a deal breaker for some people. Also as the game is mostly focused on player vs player it can also be a deal breaker for some people.
Important things about the game
Tutorial teach you how to play but I think it should also explain many things that I had to learn by trial and error and these are the things I will point out here as they are important to get better in the game. There are resources like gold, organite and soul ember. You can use gold or organite to unlock campaigns and soul ember to craft cards. You also get card packs for doing campaigns. There are also daily and season quests that give you resources for doing them. There are 4 leaders to start with so 4 card decks – glory, wealth, influence, spirit but there are also neutral cards that can be used with any deck. It is important for you to learn what color means what deck so when you open packs of card you will know for what deck you got cards. While there are neutral cards and 4 main decks if you click on “collection” you will see that there are also 6 other decks that are a mix of 2 other colors/decks. So that mean there are many many ways to build your decks but you need the right leader for each deck. By playing you get xp for the deck type you are using and your total power level is all your levels in 4 deck types together.
Conclusion
Easy to play and hard to master. Get this game if you like card games and you can invest enough time to build a good deck and to learn how to be good. Rate: 7.5/10

So I want to recommand this game, because having followed the development it's clear that the devs really want this project to succeed, and they are really trying to create all parts for the game to work and be fun. Problem is, it's just not good enough. Looking at the cards, there is nothing that I have not seen before. This game has to compete with Magic arena, Legend of Runeterra, Hearthstone. Each of those games has something that really cool and makes me want to play them. This game simply has not. I want to compare this to the game Hex. Regardless on whether you liked it or not, even the first set of Hex has cool cards that were really strong and interesting, cool new mechanics that took advantage on the PC platform. Maybe Causa should try to innovate more, create strong archetypes that offer new ways to play that no one has done before.
I have played a large variety of card games over the last 20+ years, and not very many keep my attention or interest for very long. Causa, however, immediately captured my attention, and I fell in love with the game the first day playing it. The unique system of putting your own cards into a "reserve pile" for later use AS a mana/cost system is amazing and creates so many different levels of strategy, not just with how each game itself is played, but also in how you build your deck! The graphics, animations, and music are all BEAUTIFUL and really well done, creating a distinct world. Also, the amount of passion, energy, and focus that the development team puts not only into the game itself, but also fostering and growing the community that is playing the game, is going to help keep Causa going for a long, long time to come.
Beautiful game. Lovely art and a truly excellent soundtrack. Game mechanics are perhaps not quite as unique or unprecedented as the description would make it out but they're certainly functional. I haven't played enough of the game to be able to properly comment on balance yet although one thing that immediately stands out with these mechanics is that aggressive decks are likely going to dominate everything else. Any CCG which fully replenishes your hand at the start of the turn tends to suffer from this problem and the few matches I've played so far certainly suggest this game is no exception. Another issue with the game right now is that you can't immediately jump into a campaign after completing the tutorial. Even the Apprentice campaign requires a good amount of resources to unlock which is for sure going to rub people the wrong way. Granted, all of these resources can be accumulated in game from playing but it's still a bad business decision that is going to give the game the appearance of being greedy. I would recommend at least the initial campaign to simply be free. Aside from that, the game seems well worth a try.

Causa, Voices of the Dusk - коллекционная карточная игра, разработанная Niebla Games и изданная им же.
Unfortunately, Causa is a very interesting mechanic-based CCG hidden behind some god-awful grindy progression and poor monitisation. Earning in-game currency is incredibly slow, even with the free battle pass (I earned 3K god in 10 hours) which makes building your collection and absolute slog. The main reason for this is 70% of the leaders are locked behind a paywall, and the currency you use is the same currency you use for packs. This means it took me 10 hours to unlock a single leader (12 are locked) without being able to earn a single pack out through currency, and that's as a new account. To make things worse, the progression in game to earn in-game currency drastically slows as you play more, so to earn a second heroes we're looking at 20 hours +, and that's without buying a single pack. Honestly, this is the worst implementation I've ever seen for 'progression meets monitisation in a CCG', in on the grind level of MTGA! This is all a huge shame as mechanically the game is very interesting. The use of 'dedicating cards' to generate mana and offering the option to play those cards later in the game brings a nice sense of player agency. The different combos in the pre-con decks felt fun and I genuinely enjoyed actually playing against other players, as long as I wasn't focusing on the game board. The game board UI is shockingly bad. The play area for your cards is 25% of the screen, the rest is taken up with invasive HUD which is completely not-needed. To make the board even worse, some of the animated background are so in-your-face they literally take attention away from attack and interaction animations. How this board was not changed during Early Access is beyond me?! As a big card game fan I really wanted to enjoy Causa as a jump-in-jump-out CCG. However, due to the aggressive monitisation, lack of deck customisation due to poor progression and a board UI that makes me want to play blindfolded I just could bring myself to play anymore. There's a fun CCG in here and with some tweaks to the progression, some chilling out on the monitisation and some fixes tot he board UI then I think Causa could be a fun indie CCG, until then is just a rather painful grind.
Any game that requires a 3rd part account before a test run is most likely trying to back door your email or they are just crappy developers. With that being said be careful trying this one out because it does require a third party account before even playing. OVERALL: 0/10

Beautiful aesthetics, very unique mechanics, there's nothing else like it. Unfortunately the devs have been quiet for almost a whole year, they don't communicate on the discord server, and the servers bug out constantly mid game and cause an app crash, assuming it didn't crash while loading into a match. I feel like this game is abandoned but I'll probably still keep it installed to try and play against someone every now and again, or at least listen to the music. It's a shame this didn't get better support, because I have a feeling it could have been very special.
