The story is amusing. When returning home from the store and accidentally sleeping behind a wheel, the catoise’s spaceship flies into the "nasal" base and crash-lands on the planet. Now, finding every piece of the ship is the only way to return home. The gameplay is standard for platformers. However, since a gamepad is not supported, you are limited to using a keyboard and mouse. I also learned that the gamepad would be difficult to use because it is a physics-based game where placement and movement can be crucial. Soon after crashing you receive your only tool, a bracelet that allows you to create portals and grab things. You’re allowed to create two portals, one for going in and one for coming out. Also, you can’t place portals just anywhere you want or grab anything lying around. But don't worry; these things are easily identifiable. Momentum is important when using portals, therefore the quicker you enter on one side, the quicker you'll fly out on the other. Portals can also be used to move objects. This is important for larger objects that might serve as platforms for reaching greater heights. Portals can become problematic, particularly if you leave one open in the previous screen. Although there are checkpoints and mechanisms in place to erase portals when switching rooms, you might still get stuck if you forget an item inside a portal and can’t close it. If something is too close to the wall, the game will also prevent you from creating a portal. Getting yourself locked in a room is another example. In case you get really stuck, you can’t respawn from a checkpoint. The only solution is to quit to the world map and restart the stage. I found it interesting that things have mass. A large boulder can only be pushed across the floor since it is too heavy, unlike a wooden box that can be picked up and moved anywhere across the screen. The same is true when you need to knock someone out; if you drop the object too low, it will just bounce off, but if you drop it from high above, they will pass out instantly. These kinds of games rarely feature such interesting features. The game is made of separate stages that you can access via a world map. There are multiple screens of diverse puzzles on each stage. The majority need the use of portals and nearby items, but a few require you to think outside the box. Although the path is linear, you can play any stage you want. I still recommend to play the stages in order because that way you’ll understand the mechanics better and learn how to solve problems. In any case, you must complete every stage since a piece is stashed in each. Secrets encourage you to experiment and explore. The fact that most achievements are rewarded for simplify finding them or doing something out of the ordinary is a huge plus. Play basketball with an inmate, create a portal somewhere you shouldn’t, click on something, etc. None of these can be missed because you can replay stages. Also, I'd like some information when a stage has a secret. I'm currently stuck because I don't know which I've already found. Due to the fact that they have several stages with no checkpoints, the two bosses can be difficult. You'll have to restart the entire fight if you take three hits. The first boss wasn't too difficult for me, but the second is currently broken. It was impossible until I realized that every time you duck and stand back up, a saw drops. This is not what should be happening. Although the game's backdrops and stage graphics might seem unoriginal and plain, I never got the impression that it was sacrificing creativity. The entire minimalist style works well. Other than the previously listed problems, I've come across one where all keys stop responding when there is text on the screen. This happened during the intro screen (press a key) and conversations. I solved this by switching from fullscreen to window mode and back.
It's a relaxing and sweet platform game. You can customize a cute cat and explore a beautiful world. The levels are challenging, but doable even for noobs like me. I love it and can absolutely recommend it :3
An interactive plat-former with plenty of customisables - unique features. A whole heap of challenging puzzles too solve that are highly engaging. I quite enjoyed the play-base and movement functionality. I would rate highly for the price 8/10...
Catoise is an adorable puzzle platformer in which the player takes on the role of a tortoise-shelled cat that can fire Apeture-esque portals and levitate objects thanks to the powers of a newly acquired bracelet. Catoise is a very cute and entertaining puzzle platformer. Its jolly but laid-back aesthetic counterbalances the challenge presented making it a relaxing experience overall. The gameplay, whilst not overly original, presents a good level of challenge without being frustrating and it is very satisfying to find ship parts, solve puzzles and overcome obstacles. Overall, it is a fun game that succeeds in what it tries to do, it will take around 3-5 hours to complete and is available at a very reasonable price for the amount of content. I’d happily recommend this to fans of the puzzle platformer genre and those that like their games with cats in! 8時間少々でパーツ集めを完了してエンドまで行けたが難易度は適度な印象。
Cool little puzzle platformer. Gameplay is a little ambiguous at times. A few bugs prevented me from finishing the first world, and I didn't have the patience to keep doing it over. But I had a lot of fun, I'll def be playing it again. https://www.twitch.tv/videos/1773312854
Surprisingly good, far better than i expected. loads of weird fun moments, and clever puzzles. A few places require a bit too much patience, or can kill you and send you back to the start of a slow level, other than that i enjoyed and played through to the end
Been playing this in welsh. 1 I should probably go back to learning welsh. 2 proppa welsh translations are rare and I appreciate it. Will review properly once I've played more than the early levels have so far been enjoyable puzzle/platformer and I've headcannoned the space nostrils as french Diolch yn fawr
As of writing, I finished the first boss, I don't usually play these sorts of super cutesy games but I saw this on a website for movie scripts and thought it looked cute and I have a soft spot for small indie creators so I got it. Overall it's a pretty cute game. I thought that the fact that you could place portals anywhere so long as the platform was visible might not have worked well but it did and maybe I am just dumb but I did get stuck a few times lol. There's some cute humor that got a few chuckles out of me and the Catoise is weirdly adorable. It has the vibes of those old flash games I'd play when I was young, it doesn't have any visuals that'll blow you away but I think they're fine. The gameplay is fun and the puzzles are decent, you really aren't gonna be wasting your money as it is just 5 bucks and supporting a smaller developer My one issue is that physics are sometimes a bit wonky, I had a lot of trouble with the basketball challenge with the anteater and the giant metal ball puzzle in the 5th level did confuse me a bit but those are pretty minor gripes Overall I'd recommend it if you want something that has the same vibes as old flash games
I saw this game add on a movie script website which the add showed please whishlist my game. I did and bought it had some fun and i hope you will too.
