„Sensei! Sensei!“ „Hmpf?“ „There are Vegetables in the Garden!“ „ There are always Vegetables in the Garden.“ „But Sensei! They have Eyes and Mouths.“ „Did you smoke something illegal?“ „No, Sensei! I have clean Mind! They are attacking us!“ „Then this is a Job for *Heroic Music incoming* CATana!!!!!!“ Welcome to CATANA. Well, well, well. I´m owning so many Games with Cats. My last Review was also about a Cat, a cat on the Mars. And now we have another Cat, but this time named Catana with a Katana. I love this Word Games. Anyway, the Adventure starts in the Dojo of the Sensei und his Student Catana. Mutated Vegetables are attacking and it is up to Catana to end this Thread. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2742799615 CATANA is an addicting and funny puzzler with nice animations and nice Music. It is an interesting Version of the typical Match 3 Gamestyle. Each Level you get a Target, like killing 50 Paprika. You have a maximum Movement of 9 Steps. You don´t have to do all steps, it is your Choice. Each Level you have a number of Enemys ready for action, but there will grow new ones. Move along your enemies to kill them. That only works as long as they have the same kind of Enemy next to them, you know the Match 3 Element. If you move over growing enemies, you will put them out of play. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2742800087 In the Beginning, your foes are very easy but later there will be more and different ones, that can´t be only killed that way. You need better Tactics. You will also learn up to 4 Special Attacks, that can be used once in each Level. And not to forget the Big Endbosses. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2742800546 You are a Cat, you have nine Lives, make the best out of it. Beat all 12 Areas, each with over 10 Levels with different enemies, follow the Story why everything is mutating to maybe a suprising Solution and happy End. CATANA is a nice Pearl with a fresh idea tot he beloved Match 3 Genre. Nice done and addicting since you started. Thanks to the Devs for this Charming Game. And thank YOU for Reading.

You move your character on a board where there will also be enemies, if you can attack 2 or more enemies when running around, or if they are in a group of 2 or more you can attack those and they will be removed from the board. Each level has its own end goal, which makes this a fun and enjoyable game and I didn't get bored because every level is a bit different. There will also be more challenges added later in the game, like enemies that attack every 2 turns, or angry animals that will attack you when you move by their side. I really like that you can change the difficulty level and the type of game while in a campaign... want an easier time, you can set the difficulty on easy while already halfway through the game.. made the wrong decision in the beginning if you want to the input of your character be instant, or if you want to first plan your route and then press "go", you can also change that midway the game. 2 small things I didn't like is that there is no option to skip dialog, which means if you restart/replay a level, the dialog will be there every time. I would love it if you had a setting in the menu to just skip the dialog, or skip it if you have already seen it. another thing is that on some levels, especially with tall grass it is harder to see which enemies are angry, which makes it harder to avoid them. The achievements are quite straight forward and I love it that you can check your progress of them in-game. The only challenging achievement is that on 90 levels out of the 110 you have to beat the level without getting damage. This wasn't as hard as I suspected, I just did restart a level if I got hit. You can keep track of which level you have managed to not get hit because it shows a heart symbol if you were successful. I would suggest just do your best to get this while playing through the campaign but just keep going if you get hit, as you'll get better at the game and go back later on. As that might be faster because of how much you've improved.
This is a refreshing take on a match 3 game. It reminds me of ‘claws and feathers’ both in humour, look and how you see where and what item will be in the next move. There are 3 options but no timers/limited moves. Instead even here it’s different – easy, medium, hard with how many ‘enemies’ you will face in a round. Don’t worry there is no action or anything timed/reaction. The enemies are just things you can avoid while making your route for a round. That’s just one of the many variety of things that is different to the usual M3 games– you get a certain amount of tiles you can move in each turn and lives (depending on how hard you chose). Things don’t have to be grouped together, if there are 3 squares and 2 same items on the outer squares and your character goes through the middle you will get both items. You can get multiple different items in one go. So the basic gameplay is different to begin with, then there are a lot of alternate game mechanics with its own rules so everything is kept fresh. There are bosses but still nothing timed, take your time to think what your best move would be. The bosses all have different moves with distinct ways to kill them. They aren’t difficult and even if you are going for all achievements this isn’t difficult at all, especially if you play on the easiest mode. But still just enough of a challenge to not get bored if going for all achievements. I get bored easily but this was such a lovely change, the whole game it kept it fresh from the tile characters to what different things there were for you to do in a level and that was apart from having a different objective on each level. The level tutorial were clear and concise, easy to follow. There are also in-game achievements, level map. One of the best games I’ve played in a long time, fun and great quality. The only negative is if you are replaying a level if you lost one of your lives, you have to go through all the level tutorial/story again you can’t skip it. Recommend for all even if you aren’t a fan of match 3 games but are looking for a casual fun, quite relaxing game. As Catana under the guidance of your Master, he’ll teach you how to defeat the mutating vegetables and anything else which you come across as you free the lands from this scourge. Starting a new game will have you choose the games difficulty, there are three difficulties on offer to you, Easy, Normal and Hard. Selecting Easy will allow your hero to have nine lives and face fewer enemies. Normal you have five lives and will face a moderate number of enemies, while Hard will allow you only three lives and hordes of enemies. You are able to change the difficulty of the game at any time from within the Options Menu. Tactical Control has two options for how you will control your hero, Tactical will allow you to select each individual square and create the path for Catana, you will then have to select GO for Catana to move along your chosen path. Fast allows you to hold down and move your cursor along your chosen path but instead of having to hit GO for Catana to move, he will travel along your chosen path as soon as you release your mouse button. The first level has your Master teaching you the basics of the game. Each level is played out over a Seven by Nine squared board and you’ll be able to move Catana up to nine empty squares per move. After selecting the path, you wish to choose you will have to hit the GO button if you decided to play using Tactical Control or Catana will move automatically once you release your mouse button. Moving Catana past or besides the mutated veg will allow him to attack them, slicing the veg with his blade However, Catana won’t attack any single enemy as it’s against his Code of Honour. You can only move him along empty squares within the board, so you don’t want to have the enemy overrun the board. With each action you perform new enemies will sprout throughout the board. It will take two turns before a sprout turns into a full mutated enemy. While they are in sprout form you can walk over them, this will then remove them from the board stopping them from turning into full form and overrunning the board. As you progress through the levels you travel through various different regions, where you will cross paths with new enemies. At the end of each region, you will have to deal with a Boss enemy before moving on to the next region. The enemies can also appear with armour, this will make them tougher and instead of being attacked and defeated in one turn, you will have to attack them twice before they are defeated. You also need to keep your eye out for the Angry enemies, these enemies will explode with rage and take one of your lives with them if you are within their range. Each level will have varying objectives for you to complete that level. Sometimes it’s to defeat a number of a certain type of enemy, destroy a number of crates, cloche or other objectives. On some of the level there are obstacles which you will have to work around, others like the burning tiles you will have to defeat the enemy sitting on the tile to extinguish it. However, you don’t want to walk through a burning tile as it will take away one of your lives. If you run out of lives then you’ll fail in completing the level and will have to restart the level with a fresh set of lives. To help you as you progress you will unlock some Special Abilities which you can use once per level. You have dual blades which can help cut down an enemy surrounding and there’s a potion which will help turn those angry enemy into more polite ones. You also have Tiger Fury and one more special (I haven’t unlocked the final one as of yet), the Tiger Fury allows you to throw your principles out the window, take no damage while attacking everything within your range. In the Options you will find settings for Music and Sound Effects Volume Sliders, Special Cursor, Tactical Control (Tactical and Fast), Full Screen along with Difficulty Mode (Easy, Normal and Hard). I think there are around one hundred and ten levels to keep you occupied. I have only managed to reach level forty-nine and the boss which resides there keeps spanking my botty, I will slap him one of these times and carry on. The graphics are nice and the game plays and runs well, I haven’t had any problems and have enjoyed playing the game. Positives + Nice graphics + Easy to play + Has achievements + Steam cloud Negatives - No cards currently Help Catana fight against the mutated vegetables, foods, invaders and other enemies which have overrun and spread-out from your Master’s monastery and throughout the lands further afield. 8/10 [quote]Key provided by developer/publisher for review purposes via THE CPT FROGGY CLUB! Rating: OK Game is tagged mainly as a match 3 game, but is a bit more dressed up. You have to drag a path so stuff can get erased from the table, only to return quickly. It is matching, but less 3. Enjoyable so long as it lasts.
While it's a cute game, it's just not what I was looking for. It's tagged as a Match 3 game, but that's not what it is.
This is a really interesting take on Match-3. You have a player character, this cute kitty ninja, and he's like a wild card in that you use him to make the matches. So if you have two pieces on the board, and you move him to a space where he is touching both of those pieces -- regardless of whether or not the pieces are touching each other -- then he will destroy those pieces. I probably didn't explain that well, so maybe watch a gameplay video. There are a lot of achievements which so far seem to happen naturally as you play the game. I haven't gotten them all yet so I don't know if there are any that are particularly grindy or annoying, but so far so good.
S'allright. I know that's not particularly helpful, but then again, this isn't a particularly deep game. It is more or less a Match-3 game (in broad terms), where you must move your protagonist (a cat samurai) across a grid, surrounded by enemies and as you pass by or end up concluding your move sequence adjacent to a sufficient number of enemies, you will destroy them and remove them from the board. Some enemies will randomly become "angry" and if you end your turn adjacent to them, they will injure you (and you only have a certain number of hit-points/hearts per level). Obviously, as the dozens of levels go on, you will receive some special powers (e.g. a potion to quell all the angry enemies on the game board) that are each usable once per level, and some enemies will require two hits to destroy, etc. There's even a few boss-fights with a variety of special conditions that you must contrive to bring about with your movement and attack patterns in order to beat. It's not a terribly difficult game (on average difficulty.....there is a harder difficulty with less health), and I only died a handful of time over dozens of levels, and almost always on a boss fight. The achievements are more-or-less easy to get and you will ultimately get almost all of them just through a normal playthrough (although there is one for killing a huge number of opponents where you will just have to avoid beating the level even when it's in your sights and deliberately stick around killing non-specified opponents rather than the ones the level wants you to slay, just so your can rack up a high enough number of kills). So, it's certainly not anything special, but it's a fun way to kill ~8 hours if you're in the mood for a palate cleanser between harder, more intellectually demanding games. Recommended.
Tout est génial dans ce jeu, scénario, graphisme, personnages. Ca fait la deuxième fois que j'y joue, je l'avais déjà sur un autre site de jeu. Merci aux concepteurs.
