About

Now you can experience it for yourself.
In this maddening journey, you control a determined little cat, pushing the yarn all the way up toward the clouds. Sounds simple, right? Wrong. Every step is a struggle, every collision matters, and even the smallest mistake will send the yarn rolling back to the starting point. The only things you can rely on are your paws—left, right, or both together.

You’ll need to traverse semi-realistic, complex paths: squeeze through narrow obstacles, balance on constantly shifting terrain, and struggle in the water, where controlling the cat becomes nearly impossible. Though there are safe zones in each stage, reaching them is a battle of its own.

Local Co-op Mode — suffer together

It’s unique. It’s punishing. It’s super adorable.
Because this isn’t just another rage game—it’s the world’s first cat-and-yarn rage climb. No matter how many times you fall, you’ll always find yourself saying: “Just one more try.”

Who needs therapy when you can play Cat’s Rage with your best friend and destroy your inner peace together? Co-op mode makes it twice as funny and ten times more painful. The art is cute, the music is calm, and your patience is gone. Loved it.
Fun game to play, especially the co-op mode.

Cat’s Rage is a physics-driven indie platformer developed and published by Dosy. The game belongs to the increasingly recognizable “rage game” genre, a category of titles built around extremely punishing mechanics, precise movement systems, and a design philosophy that expects players to fail repeatedly while gradually mastering the challenge. Despite its cute and harmless premise—guiding a small cat as it pushes a ball of yarn up toward the clouds—the experience quickly reveals itself to be a demanding test of patience, coordination, and perseverance. The basic premise is deceptively simple. Players control a determined cat that must push a large ball of yarn upward through a towering vertical environment filled with obstacles, narrow ledges, unstable surfaces, and hazardous terrain. The ultimate goal is to reach the top of the climb, but doing so requires careful control of the yarn as it rolls, bounces, and slides along the terrain. Because the ball behaves according to physics rather than strict platforming rules, maintaining control becomes increasingly difficult as the environment grows more complex. Unlike many modern platformers, Cat’s Rage intentionally avoids conventional safety systems such as frequent checkpoints. Progress can be lost very quickly if the yarn slips or falls from a high ledge. In many situations a single mistake can send the player tumbling back down through several sections of the level, sometimes undoing a significant amount of progress. This design choice is central to the rage game genre, where failure is not simply a possibility but an expected part of the experience. Each fall forces players to restart portions of the climb, encouraging them to learn from mistakes and refine their technique. The movement mechanics are one of the game’s most distinctive features. Rather than relying on standard platforming controls, players must manipulate the cat’s paws to guide the ball of yarn through the environment. The player can push the yarn from different angles or attempt to balance it carefully while navigating tricky terrain. Because the ball responds to physics and momentum, each movement requires careful judgment. Pushing too hard can cause the yarn to roll uncontrollably, while moving too slowly may make it difficult to climb certain obstacles. Environmental design plays a crucial role in shaping the challenge. The vertical path toward the sky contains a wide variety of obstacles designed to test different aspects of the movement system. Some areas feature narrow pathways where even the smallest miscalculation can cause the yarn to fall. Other sections include shifting platforms or steep slopes that require careful control of momentum. Water sections introduce additional complications by altering the movement behavior of both the cat and the yarn, forcing players to adapt their strategy to new conditions. The game’s structure is built around gradual mastery. As players climb higher, the difficulty of the terrain increases, demanding greater precision and patience. While there are occasional safe areas where players can pause and assess the next challenge, the climb remains consistently tense because the risk of falling never disappears. Reaching a new section of the map often feels like a significant accomplishment, especially after repeated attempts to overcome the same obstacle. One interesting feature included in the game is a local cooperative mode that allows two players to attempt the climb together. Instead of making the challenge significantly easier, the addition of a second player often introduces even more unpredictability. Both players must coordinate their actions while guiding the same objective, which can lead to chaotic moments where miscommunication causes the yarn to slip or fall. This cooperative mode adds a social element to the experience and can make the frustration of repeated failures more entertaining when shared with a friend. Visually, Cat’s Rage uses a bright and colorful 3D art style that contrasts sharply with the difficulty of the gameplay. The environments are whimsical and stylized, featuring playful shapes and vibrant colors that give the game a lighthearted appearance. The cat itself is animated with expressive movements that highlight its determination as it pushes the oversized ball of yarn upward. This visual charm helps soften the frustration of repeated setbacks by maintaining a playful atmosphere. The sound design reinforces this contrast between calm presentation and demanding gameplay. Gentle background music accompanies the climb, creating a relaxed tone that almost feels ironic given the difficulty of the challenge. Sound effects provide feedback when the yarn moves, bounces, or falls, helping players understand how their actions influence the physics of the environment. While the audio design remains relatively simple, it contributes to the overall atmosphere of the game. One of the defining aspects of Cat’s Rage is the emotional cycle it creates for players. Each attempt to climb higher builds tension as the potential consequences of failure increase. Reaching a new section of the environment feels rewarding precisely because it required persistence and repeated effort. When mistakes occur and the yarn falls, the resulting frustration often motivates players to try again immediately. This cycle of failure, learning, and eventual success lies at the heart of the rage game experience. However, the game’s unforgiving design also limits its appeal. Rage games are inherently polarizing, and Cat’s Rage is no exception. Players who enjoy high-difficulty challenges and precision-based mechanics may find the experience deeply satisfying, especially when they finally conquer sections that once seemed impossible. On the other hand, players who prefer more forgiving platformers with steady progression may find the constant risk of losing progress discouraging. Despite these potential frustrations, Cat’s Rage succeeds at delivering exactly what it sets out to be: a focused physics-based challenge that rewards patience and persistence. The combination of charming visuals, unusual movement mechanics, and punishing level design creates an experience that stands out within the niche genre of rage platformers. Overall, Cat’s Rage is a memorable indie platformer that embraces difficulty as its defining feature. Its clever use of physics, vertical level design, and playful presentation creates a unique experience that will likely appeal to players who enjoy demanding skill-based challenges. While its unforgiving mechanics may not suit every player, those who appreciate the satisfaction of overcoming tough obstacles will likely find the climb to the top both frustrating and rewarding.
