Cat + Dog

Cat + Dog is the successor to a previous game I played called Cat Dungeon. It's a fairly simple looking sokoban styled puzzle game with an adorable main characters, The Cat and The Dog, and a lovely pixel artstyle. In this new game from Fortcullis Games, you control two characters simultaneously, the Cat and the Dog. As you move the Cat left, the Dog goes right. The Cat loves fish and the Dog wants some bones! The Cat must not touch the bones and the Dog must not touch the fish, pretty simple. There is also the familiar boxes and spikes from the last game. In my honest opinion, this game is another great game from this developer! They listened to feedback very well and this game is even a little bit easier than the last, making the beating of the game more faster, but still time consuming enough to be forth the effort. This game is in-fact a great addition, and I fully recommend this to any puzzle enthusiasts or those who want a little bit of challenge in their gaming.

Another great puzzle game from Fortcullis Games!

I played through this when it came out and forgot to leave a review. I love these pixel aesthetic sokoban games. Something about box pushing games captures the simultaneous simplicity and complexity of early video game design. Pairing it with cute dogs and cats makes it perfectly cozy. Fortcullis Games is an awesome dev, I hope you make more cozy puzzlers and cool action games!

十字キーの方向そのままに動くネコと、その逆（反転）の動きをするイヌを操作して、それぞれの好物である魚とホネをすべて取ればクリアのパズルです。好物ではないほう（ネコならホネ）を取るとアウトになります。乗るとアウトのトゲ床、それを解除するスイッチ、すべてが同じ方向に連動して動くタルなどのギミックがあります。 このゲーム面白いです。意地になってやってしまう魅力がある。ハマるってことですね。後半になると、盤面が触れたらアウトのものだらけになりますが、パズルとして考えて慎重にやっていると、そのうちにうまくいきます。いくらか詰まると、動く方向をメモしてやっていました。その必要があるくらい難しいです。でもだからこそ意地になって、必死になってしまう。 最後の行動だけ「一手戻る」が出来ることにクリアしてから気づきました。一度３０ステージすべてをクリアしたら、隠し部屋に、最後のステージをクリアしなくてもステージセレクトから入れるようにしてほしいです。 総じて、いいゲームだと思います。

Simple puzzler that features a fun twist: the cat and dog are moved by the same joytstick, but in opposite directions. The goal is to pick up fish for the cat, and bones for the dog, and if you reverse that they die and it's game over. Luckily there's a single-step undo so you don't lose all your progress if you forget for a second which animal moves which way. I find myself making that mistake often, even though I've been playing for almost an hour now. There's the occasional box pushing puzzle as well, but mostly it's about separating the movement of the two characters so they don't eat the wrong item. The puzzles are fun and neither overly obvious nor overly hard. I enjoyed it and plan to play more after posting this review.

a true test of mental fortitude

面クリア時やリトライ・終了時に鳴き声有り。ルールはシンプルだがプレイしていると結構ややこしいので脳の鍛錬になるかも。10問越えたあたりから解けるまで時間が掛かるようになる。物語は無いので日本語無しでも問題ない。マイナーゲームなのでプレイ動画も見つからないし、ガイドにある解答例の14面は間違っていて途中で死ぬのでそこは自力で解かないといけない。 SteamDeckで普通に動作しているのでクラウドセーブに対応していないのが惜しい。セーブデータは探してみたがどこにあるのかわからなかった。～\AppData\Local\CatDog\User Dataフォルダ内のどれかのファイルな気はするが。

A puzzle game where you control a cat and a dog simultaneously to guide them to their favourite snacks—fish for the cat and bones for the dog. Its gameplay combines relaxing Sokoban-style mechanics with a layer of challenge due to the dual-character movement. Managing the dual controls add to the puzzle challenge in my opinion.
