Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 0.86/day in the week to Sep 8 → 1.14/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,402 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Отличная игра с милыми котиками!
Chess with cats, nothing that much, but there is no story, no power upgrades or something funnier.
You can tell a lot of love was put into this game. Yes, it's chess. But it's also cats duking it out on the board. I really like the unique interactions between the different pieces, the use of sound and music is great, and the vibe and feel is really something else!

Worst chess skin I’ve ever seen. Capturing a piece has absolutely no satisfaction: The cats just say hi to each other and casually walk off the board. It somehow makes chess feel boring, which is honestly impressive. I played one match against someone after selecting “medium” as my skill level. I had him beaten, he got angry, and then deliberately made me wait almost 500 seconds until I finally gave up and said, “Fine, you can have it.” There’s no chat, so you can’t even insult these losers. There’s also no real ranking system, since you can choose any skill level you want, so no real progression. There’s no option to import your own music, and the whole UI feels clanky; every thing you touch you hear an annoying mew that sounds worst than me in the bathroom. rly not sure if its the sound that is that bad or the fact that if you open the options, you will hear the same mew 230240239 times. I rly don’t understand how this was released in this state. It feels predatory: add cats to chess and people immediately think, “WOW! CATS and CHESS! I love both!” That was exactly why I bought it. Turns out they somehow managed to make chess less fun. Easiest refund of my life.
《Cat Chess》
I cant express how incredibly, rediculously. hilariously fun this game is! i love how each cat type has its own animation against each type of cat! thats a funominal feature! thank you DEVS for such an incredibly fun game! P.S. The ones complaining about stalemates dont understand how the game works clearly. "If the enemy has only their king left and it is their turn, a stalemate happens if you accidentally trap their king in a way that blocks all of their escape squares but doesn't put them in check. If the enemy king can still legally move, the game continues." In the new game Cat Chess on Steam, stalemates happen for the exact same reason they do in classic chess. Even though the game swaps standard pieces for animated house cats and stray cats, it uses the exact, untouched mechanics of traditional chess.A stalemate triggers when a king is left entirely alone because of three strict rules that govern how the game must be played: 1. You cannot move into danger: The rules of chess state that a king can never willingly step onto a square where it would be captured. 2. You are not allowed to "skip" a turn: Every turn requires a player to make a physical move. 3. The ultimate goal is checkmate, not elimination: You only win if you are actively attacking the king (putting it in check) while it has nowhere to go before you go complaining about your skill issues, maybe learn to play the actual game. just saying folks
10/10 And I can't even play chess
A very good chess game with amazingly animated interactions. For the price this is hard to beat.
I was excited when this game came out as I love both chess and cats, and the first time I ran this game it ran perfectly despite it saying that my graphics driver was out of date (I don't trust myself to not mess up my computer trying to update that kind of stuff). But the next few times I attempted to play it as was laggy as heck. I couldn't even select the level that I wanted to play on. I did manage to lower all the graphics to low, but that barely changed anything. The most I was able to do after that was select the level after a short while and move a single pawn (which took 20+ seconds). This game gives off the vibe of a mobile game to be honest. Please comment if you know how to help me. If I can't get this game to work I might try to refund it.
I've looked for a great chess tutorial for ages, so my kid and I could learn to play together. Who knew that it would show up on its own, in the form of my cat-loving nine-year-old stumbling across videos about its adorable animations? Cat Chess is PERFE... sorry... PURRRRRRFECT for us. You don't even have to go through tutorials teaching you how the pieces move. It shows you the options for each piece, if you click on them during your turn. It even shows you the options for your opponent's pieces, so you can notice that you're in danger (even if your opponent hasn't realized it yet)! The animations are, of course, the best part: they bring the game's action to life. I'm sure you can play Cat Chess without any of these little assists, and that some people prefer to. But for us, it's an incredibly fast and enjoyable way to get up to the same level as more experienced players. It's just an incredibly well-designed chess game, disguised as a hilarious bunch of cats.
