[h1]低価格なりによく出来ている[/h1] 本作は見ての通り、ありふれた感じのレースゲームだが、「積み荷」の仕様が個性を生んでいる。 なんとこのゲーム、スピードを出せばいいというものではなく、段差やカーブで一定以上のスピードを出していると荷台から積み荷が飛び出してしまうのである。 これが本作におけるライフのようなもので[u]積み荷がすべてなくなったら走行中でも問答無用でゲームオーバー[/u]である。なので無事にゴールへ辿り着くためにはスピードの緩急に気を付ける必要があり、繊細なプレイが求められる。 [h1]やりこみ[/h1] ステージ別でタイムアタックが用意されており、オンラインランキングに対応しているので挑戦のし甲斐がある。 もっとも低価格が作用しているのか、やりこんでいるユーザーは多いので上に食い込もうと思うなら、けっこうな努力が必要になるだろう。 [h1]問題点[/h1] ステージ1はいいのだが、ステージ2から1ステージが長いのが少し問題だ。 本作では困ったことに道路に置かれている[u]障害物に触れると積み荷があっても即死[/u]なのである。そのため、長い道をどれだけうまく走っていてもうっかり障害物に1回当たっただけで台無しになるのである。 これがゲームを面白くしているならいいのだが、ただのストレスにしかなっていない。 長く遊ばせる意図のようなものを感じるが、障害物に当たっても積み荷が一定数吹っ飛ぶぐらいにしてほしかった。 [h1]まとめ[/h1] 安いが、案外ゲームの中身はちゃんとしているのでレースゲームが好きならおすすめできる。 特に積み荷に気を付けながら運転するというのが本作のユニークなポイントなので、一風変わった作品をお求めなら満足できるかもしれない。

Two notable criteria for what makes an asset flip instead of legitimate use of stock assets are whether those assets comprise the majority of the game, and whether the "developer" properly credited the people who created most of the assets in the game. This game fails both of those tests. The "developers" here didn't credit any of the artists and real, actual game developers who created the assets here, so this is plagiarism, as well as cash grab shovelware. Trying to take this asset flips seriously as game, which nobody should (or ever did), while it looks like a driving game, it's really an endless runner as you steer an asset flipped truck around an asset flip track, dodging obstacles to see how far along you can go. Like all asset flips, this is just a cash grab and has no serious value or merit as a real PC game. The poor quality of this asset flip is reflected by how many people spent time with it. At the time of this review, SteamDB shows the game all-time peak player count was only ONE player. That's right, only one person ever played this at a time. When I played this for the purposes of reviewing it, I equalled the peak player count for the game. OUCH. The only player activity occurs once or twice a month, presumably someone loading it up to see what it is then quickly uninstalling it. Considering there's over 120 million gamers on Steam and well over 100,000 games for gamers to choose from, the overwhelming lack of interest in this low quality game is to be expected. So, should you buy this game? Is this one of the best of the 100,000+ games on Steam? Once more we see greedy devs trying to scam PC gamers. On Steam, this is $2 USD, but it's free to play on the web. Web developers must learn PC gamers are not here to be gouged, and can't be expected to pay a premium for a free browser game just because it's been lazily dumped on Steam. This is unacceptable disrespect for PC gamers. Because this can be played free elsewhere, and because of the other defects, it's impossible to recommend. Remember that if you buy a game from an unethical developer, you're putting your money at risk. I already left a review of the game on the Newgrounds page, but I wanted to add extra thoughts. First off the game is good, I like it. The graphics are nice, and the controls are excellent. One thing the game needs most is variety. There are 12 levels but only a few unique “types” or world designs. I feel like the game would work better with some more levels, put into a world progression type (Sort of like ClusterTruck). The level designs now are good but more variety would help the game with replay ability immensely. A smaller issue I have is with the star system. I feel it would be better if the stars had a set location in each level (perhaps even hidden off the track) rather than a random location each time. I already have been speedrunning this game for a little bit and that is its best attribute. With so many skips the game has many fun levels to speedrun. Balancing keeping the crates in the truck and getting to the goal is immense fun. Overall Cargo Truck Racer is fun and has a whole lot of potential for an amazing sequel!
